Ruthie H cracks me up in this. She’s soooo leggy and showbiz. Is that her normal voice?

that nasal twang...it's not my favourite and it's unbearable on the Billy Elliot DVD.

The fabled producer, making his name by not paying cast, crew and other companies involved in collapsed touring musicals, who shall remain nameless on here, is co-producing this.
I am therefore revising my decision to attend.

I am therefore revising my decision to attend. I don't have the programme to hand to check but I'm sure he was listed as co-producer for Aspects of Love too. I feel the same way as you about his apparent involvement at Hope Mill.

It is just possible that this person (whoever it might be - I can't be bothered to find my Wonderland programme to check) has changed their ways and is now a mature and responsible producer...

Sure its possible. Is it probable? Not as sure. Without getting into the details, freely available on google, not going to discuss further.

All this recycling is fabulous stuff. Reminds me of the glamour of my school shows and am dram days! Although now it’s all about a carbon footprint

I love the Hope Mill but it did make me laugh earlier when they posted two audience members' responses to the opening night, one of which mainly praised Sondheim rather than the production itself, and boldly declared that the show is a hit!
Does the suspended parallelogram have pride of place above the stage again?

Having watched this at today’s performance, overall another very enjoyable Sunday afternoon spent at the Hope Mill theatre though it was a shame that it wasn’t a sellout. There where plenty of spare seats dotted around the auditorium. I spotted the reuse of those flowers from previous productions!
As for the show itself, I thought the small cast of 6 (including the MD on piano) did really well and there was plenty of energy on stage with some great vocals. Though I thought Simbi Akande was a standout for me personally. I thought the party setting was a nice idea, though I don’t whether you could of got away without using it and just had a concert setting if you like would have worked just as well as it was a revue rather than using the songs to tell a story in a more traditional musical set up.
I think it was a nice to hear some of the songs that were cut from Company and ALNM. Though hearing the Company songs that where used was a nice set up for my Company London visit in a fortnight.
If I had one criticism, it would have been that the music was just a piano as like Apects of Love a couple of months ago. I would of liked a bit of guitar and drums just to make a richer sound to the score.
