Should both of these venues be announcing their Christmas musicals right about now?
Does anyone know (or heard any murmurs) of what they are? Also, the Arts Theater hasn't announced their next show
thanks,
ST

Also, the Arts Theater hasn't announced their next show thanks, ST The Arts Theatre has Six and then The Wipers Times after Knights of the Rose. The Menier Christmas announcement will be a while yet I would imagine, though they must be planning to reveal the play which will follow Spamilton pretty soon.

Anything has to be better than last years Barnum. I sat there and longed for the fire alarm ring !

Wonderful Town could work really well in the space and as it’s Bernstein centenary

So, do we have any idea when the Menier will announce their Christmas musical?
What are people hoping for, or are there any rumours what we might be getting this year?

A John Doyle style actor-musician version might be interesting. Otherwise I’m struggling to see why a fringe venue should be putting on a show that would fit better in the West End. Cast it well and something like The Bridges of Madison County would be a perfect fit for this space. I keep saying that 'The Bridges of Madison County' is perfect for Ronny Boogaloo and Sierra Boggess to reunite in London's glitzy West End. When will Sonia Friedman stop blocking and take my calls?

The Bridges of Madison County has a glorious score, Kelli O’Hara says it was her favourite show on Elaine Paige, speaking of which what ever happened to the announcement from Charing Cross Theatre, that they were doing a Tony Award winning show?
Anyway in those 3 fringe venues we had Woman in White/Big Fish and Barnum for Christmas musicals, which for show choices were quite inspired, as far as we know only one has been rumoured so far and that is Fiddler on the Roof and we are already off to a bad start.

The Other Palace will have a challenge beating Big Fish. I still cry at the thought of that production. Definitely one of my favourites of last year.

I'd like to see one of the many long rumoured Southwark transfers in these spaces... Grey Gardens, Xanadu, Pippin, Carrie... Unlikely but I can dream!

This is completely self indulgent as I missed it at the Menier BUT I think Assassins could fit well at the Other Palace. Won't happen because it isn't new and likely wouldn't secure an audience. It also isn't exactly festive.
I can still dream.

Wasnt a show announced by Paul Taylor Mills about a show he was doing at TOP when he quit a couple of months ago? But maybe that was for the studio, I dunno.

Charing X musical is Mythic, previously called 27 and worshipped at Other Palace a few months back. Running from I think Mid-October to January.

Are you saying the earlier suggestion was mythleading?
