My friend's son is playing Ginger in the show - and having the time of his life. The Lord himself was in this evening - and cried. And I remember crying when I saw the original production. It might not be a perfect show - but it has moments of great power. Oh the boy playing ‘Ginger’ was great (they are all fantastic)! I didn’t see Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber but I did recently when I saw ‘Prom Queen’ there!! |

I saw the first preview of the original production, so knowing that was 18 years ago makes me feel old!
Interesting that “It Will Never End” is back in the show, as that was cut very early in previews in the West End, and part of it can now be heard in Love Never Dies. Funny that he took one song out of TBG to go into LND, and put a bit of LND back into TBG!
I also wish I had a recording of “The Boys in the Photograph” as it bugs me that there’s an ALW tune I don’t have (I’ve got pretty much every tune he’s every released!). Does anyone know if it’s on the 2006 Hungarian cast recording?

I agree. It has huge heart. I haven't got time to see this production, but I saw the original and the Union Theatre version.
It's extremely moving, bittersweet and poignant. And full of youthful gusto and energy. An absolute gem that is criminally underrated.

I enjoyed this much more than the original production. I didn't get a programme so I don't know names - but I thought the girl playing Mary had a wonderful voice. Also thought the boy playing Thomas was a great actor. However all were excellent. Very glad I saw it.

This was amazing, I only booked last minute as I saw the comments here. Glad I did.
