A friend of mine used to go to a regular group where they’d meet up and read aloud scripts, assigning parts, having fun and discussing the play. Hers doesn’t meet anymore but I’ve been thinking for years since then how great an idea that sounds. Does anyone know of any in London? Is it time to start one?

I am about to start a series of readings here in Oxford - only featuring scripts by women writers. But that doesn't help London based peeps!

Not sure if it's exactly that format, but the Bush do a play reading and discussion group that meets weekly, and the Court do one-off play discussion groups. London Playwrights Blog do something similar but it may be online only. There are quite a few similar groups intended for actors or writers. I'm sure if you started one it would be popular.
