Carina is coming back tonight to play Glinda!
I wonder if Alexia’s back or not!
My guess is Alexia & Lucy have Covid

It's a Wicked UK tradition for a cast member to give an emotional farewell and return within two weeks!

Rebecca Gilliland is also back to standby for Elphaba. 💚 Could be an interesting weekend of cast roulette at this rate…!!

Rebecca Gilliland would be an amazing candidate for standby Elphaba on the upcoming tour. I hope the producers consider her, considering she has been at their beck and call for the last year!

The revolving door of Wicked UK continues!
Samantha Thomas is returning to play Glinda for both shows today. Nicolla Espallardo is on as Elphaba (18th March, 2023).

And not a word of explanation for it.

It’s got to be covid right? To have them both out consistently for that length of time. Maybe they both need to wait until they are negative. Amy did a show or two between Nicola doing hers so that might just be regular illness

And not a word of explanation for it. I would suggest writing a letter to the team at the Apollo Victoria if it's bothering you this much.

If I’d booked tickets to see the new cast i probably would be doing exactly that! I mean, if they’ve tested positive for Covid it’s understandable that they’re not appearing but what is this aversion to tell punters what’s going on?

And not a word of explanation for it. Why do they owe anyone an explanation? If they’re not well enough to come in to do their jobs why should a statement be made?

Which I would agree with if they hadn’t been pushing the new cast all over the internet and the London Underground. The cast either matters or it doesn’t matter. They need to decide. And if it DOES matter that brings responsibilities to paying customers.

Does an employer even have the right to share medical information with the disgruntled public? I wouldn’t have thought so.

However, It doesn’t take away from ‘Wicked’s dreadful communication in general.

We didn't all give Lucie grief a week in when she went off - a lot of us started that after a few weeks/months when what was happening became apparent. I'd argue producers are not taking the 'piss' currently - there's scope to say they were in 2022-23 when the situation became as out of control as it was, but we are week 2 of a new cast. These people have just done four weeks of rehearsals, tech, they're knackered and there's some horrid bugs going round in London. Let's give it a couple of weeks before we accuse the producers of carrying on their tactics from the last contract eh?
