Doesn't inspire a desire to go more than the once i have already booked. Neither of the leads shouts out powerful singer, and they seem to have avoided all the great Galileos and Scaramouches who made an impression at the Dominion - most of whom still look the part and seem free. Has touring suddenly become massively unpopular? Jenny also looks a very young Killer . And Meat is?

Meat is presumably now called Oz?

Meat is presumably now called Oz? Yep, seems so. The international versions always had her as Oz and not Meat. The Buddy character threw me until I realised that had replaced Pop, unless that happened ages ago and I’d forgotten.

Ian McIntosh has an incredible voice and I‘m definitely tempted to see the tour just to hear him sing those songs.

Jenny O'Leary can sing but she doesn't strike me as one with a big, powerful voice for Killer Queen. And, as someone else has already mentioned, she seems a bit young for the role. Think Elena will make a good Scara, not too familiar with Ian.

Don't know if this has already been mentioned but just got an email from ATG and there's this quote on there from Brian May "This is a stunning state-of-the art new-look production of WWRY - but of course the original story is now more relevant than ever"

This is opening in a couple of weeks! Any news? Do we know what scale this production will be yet?

The (only) two shows at the Churchill Theatre Bromley on Saturday 21 September have been sold out since the Thursday and Friday there were cancelled. Very disappointing as I had middle front row booked for the opening night.
I understand the company is rehearsing at Bromley the whole week and then two public performances on Saturday. I spoke to someone there who said they get calls every day from people wanting tickets so no likelihood of any returns being placed online.
Ipswich the following week is 99% sold out with just a few single seats available.

In terms of scale and wow factor with the sets and lighting for this I don’t hold out much hope sadly.
Bromley isn’t really a place you associate with the “big” shows sorting out their tech before launching. Is also doing loads of one week stints at small theatres so must be very easy to pack up and move.
Didn’t the original WWRY UK Tour do long sit downs at the big houses?! (I confess I didn’t see it. I last went at The Dominion)

Open dress tonight. Did anyone form here go? That's news to me, I had my Thursday seat for WWRY cancelled, and get very regular mail outs from the Churchill but no mention of an open dress rehearsal. How was it publicised ?

I saw some photos on the Churchill's Instagram location tag on Instagram and the set design looks to heavily use video screens, from the brief photo I saw of it.

How was it publicised ? Open should probably be renamed ‘invited’ as it usually refers to a dress run which is opened up to a few invited guests (usually friends and family of the cast) for an extra supportive atmosphere to practice in front of an audience and gauge audience response.

The pre-set for this looks great, very futuristic and space-themed which looks to suit the aesthetic of the show.
I wonder how it will look in some of the larger theatres such as the Mayflower and the Edinburgh Playhouse, if they are opening in an intimate space like the Churchill.
