Cast sounds great already!! The launch event and social media coverage were a bit underwhelming though I agree.. They sang at least another song, can't remember its title... The one where all of them are on the plane. West End Wilma uploaded a story on their Instagram. Can't find the full version on YouTube, can anyone help?

Idk, the one where Beverley goes like "ladies and gentlemen if you look out your window..." or something like that. Lol hope that helps.

Yes it's Somewhere In The Middle of Nowhere, couldn't find a separate video but it's at the end of this video of the full launch:

So what's the deal gonna be with Rachel's hair? Will she go for her dark hair or will it be the Jenn Coella cropped look from Broadway with a wig?

Cast sounds great already!! The launch event and social media coverage were a bit underwhelming though I agree.. That's cause they always invite along the same people! I know little about this show but booked months ago when there was the Today Tix special offer. Now I know Rachel Tucker is officially involved I will be moving permanently into the theatre.

'And somehow I'm 51'... really? Jenn Colella is 44. And she would have been 40 when she originated the role.

I'm really looking forward to this and think vocally Rachel will be great. I've just watched a clip on YouTube of Becky Gulsvig singing from the US tour. I noticed that Beverley is meant to be 51 but seems they've always cast younger actresses . I'm normally not too bothered but I just thought it's a bit of a shame when there are comparatively so fewer roles for 'older' women in musicals

One of the unusual things about CFA is that the successful romance story is between two people who are quite a bit older than most romantic couples in a show, but you're definitely not wrong about the casting of Beverly.

'And somehow I'm 51'... really? Perhaps Jodie Steele could do it? 😂 Honestly though I know several ladies who look up to twenty years younger than their actual age. I’m not sure it’s truly a problem if I’m honest though.

That was just beautiful. They pulled that together in a couple of days?!? It sounded fantastic. As a Newf, it is so weird to hear the accents veering a bit too much towards the Irish side of things than the North American side (we use the full f word in all its glory) but they nailed it better than any of the cast I have heard thus far (apart from Petrina Bromley, of course).
Rachel Tucker was amazing. To get the singing, Newfoundland vowels and then the Texas lack of consonants (wan(t)ed, depar(t)ing) so right, so early on, is phenomenal. shady23, I'll be moving with you into the theatre.

just me who thinks she's really struggling with those high notes? Yes. Nah, definitely a couple she doesn't quite nail. But they only had a couple of days rehearsal, then thrown in front of an audience early in the morning, recipe for not getting the best out of people.

Rachel Tucker fans, make sure you watch Informer, a new huge BBC drama that starts on October 16th. She is in four episodes. The wonderful Sharon D Clarke is also in it. Hurray!

just me who thinks she's really struggling with those high notes? I thought that too - I really liked the performance, but some of the high notes were clearly a struggle.

just me who thinks she's really struggling with those high notes? No. I had to switch that off. She was off key several times and those high notes... ouch

Agreed. Painful and really disappointing. It's not as if she wasn't prepared to sing it!

Crumbs. Only listened to the cast recording for the first time yesterday - which I thought was meh. Maybe context will change my opinion when I see it, like has so often happened in the past!
But I’ve got to say that rendition was not at all flattering, struggled to make it to the end.
