I’ve booked tickets for Manchester, just had an email saying it’s cancelled and they’re looking to reschedule 9 to 5 is being rescheduled there too. Wonder if The Lion King is having a long run there from early March when it was reported to be opening and that's why other shows are moving.

The opening run at the Alexandra, Birmingham has been postponed until 31 January to 5 February 2022, meaning Aberdeen is now the opening venue in March.

We originally had tickets for Newcastle in May 2021 and they have now been moved to March 2022.

They will not tour children until the pandemic is over and this has 12 plus standbys so I expect it will be a while until we see this show

So Norwich is pushed back by about 7 months.
Tickets are still on sale for a Sunderland opening in June!

This was a fun show. I enjoyed hearing the range of laughter from different sections of the audience, adults on the world weary stuff, children on the rude bits. I thought the staging and set could have been more imaginative, though lighting did a lot of the heavy lifting in all the bits you're liklely to remember. It looks quite an easy thing to tour, allowing these short engagements. Short engagements quite conservative, but definitely one of those shows that's going to play best with a full house, so makes sense.

Not sure if this has been talked about yet but does anyone know the staging for the tour? Will be interesting to see if they restage the UK Version for a "normal" stage or if they just use the US staging. Kinda hoping we get the US Staging.

Can’t remember any vast difference other than slight changes to the set?

Saw this tonight in Woking, I’d seen it once before in London about a month before it closed. Was very good again tonight, I’m guessing there’s probably minimal changes in the set but I didn’t notice any. All the leads were excellent and it’s still a crowd pleaser, especially when it becomes a rock concert at the end. Might catch the tour again in Cardiff next summer.

How are the kids working out for the tour so far? Is the performance quality as good as the WE? I assume there are several casts of kids, I wonder how many? The logistics of this tour must be a nightmare with schooling and guardians etc. According to the website they’re still auditioning by the looks of it.

Ive been to two tour venues now and I have to say the standard is as high as the opening west end cast. Whats more confusing is the kids are now split into Band Teams and Singing teams. From what I understand there are 3 singing teams (Summer, Tomika, Marcy, Shonelle, Billy, Mason) and they perform the whole week, so 1 in 3 venues. With 4 Band teams (Zach, Freddie, Katie, Laurence, James and Sophie - who cover the band roles). 2 teams at each venue so a 50/50 split.

Lots of fun tonight at this. I think we had Alex Tompkins on as Dewey going by the cast photos although he’s not credited as alternate or Understudy, he had fantastic energy. Rebecca Locke was fabulously buttoned up as Miss Mullins and all of the kids were great. It’s a while since I saw it in London but it didn’t look unduly cut back for the touring version. Impossible not to come out smiling. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I went last night, lead was Alex Tompkins too , I thought he was amazing and how he keeps up the stamina I don’t know ! Was as good if not better than when I saw it the West End, definitely worth a ticket if you can get there

Your reviews and the presence of Ms Locke has finally convinced me to shell out a whole £13 (well £16 really) for a front row seat for this. Roll on May.
