^I think had Cats not had the runs at the Palladium in 2014 and 2015, they'd probably be demand for it. I agree, just can’t think what ALW show could go there - assuming it’s possibly an ALW as said.

I don't think the Barbican production sold well enough to justify a West End return but also it's touring the US so the set won't be available

I think with the film coming out and reaching new audiences, there would be enough demand for Cats. Especially in its original theatre, with the opportunity to celebrate its 40th anniversary there in 2021. But if not, I'd love to see the Australian/US tour version of Love Never Dies.

It'd be a sad state of affairs with three theatres having the same shows they once held years before rather than brand new shows.

SOR struck myself and my fam as being a terrific show, but not one that would get massive repeat business.Guessing everyone who wanted to see it in the WE has now done that,so closing next April sounds about right.Would love to see Sunset Boulevard back, but Cats sounds better for commercial reasons.

You're right, think it is a terrific family show and am v glad ALW had a decent log running (new) hit. But for me (and I am a massive ALW fan) I wasn't that fussed by it musically and also didn't keep returning. (I also thought the set looked almost Kenwright levels cheap). To the extent that when I think of the ALW shows in London, I think of Phantom and I often forget SOR is there. Whatever became of the Unmasked project that they did at The Other Palace, apparently prior to an (as yet not materialised) US tour? Perhaps that could be a candidate for the Gillian Lynne. Cats at the GL would be EPIC though :-)

Although, I haven't seen the new version and that does look like a camp time. I want Starlight Express!!!

I'd be happy with Starlight but am putting my money on JCS.

Starlight or JCS please... or find space for both! Is this just pure speculation that it’s closing/another ALS show going in there? Any of our credible folk able to shed some light on it? Don’t want to get excited just yet.

I liked School of Rock, but do think it's time for something else especially if it's discounting a lot now.
I don't think it will be JCS as I'm sure Timothy Sheader at the Barbican Q&A said it won't be back (in London at least).
If it's an ALW show then Starlight Express could be a good shout, or his new Cinderella though that's opening on Broadway first.
As for non-ALW, I would throw my usual suggestion in for every availble theatre for Groundhog Day. Also someone said the Gillian Lynne for Beetlejuice which, as much as I want to see it in London, would it fit in the GL without the set being scaled back?

Starlight would be epic, always wanted to see that outside of Bochum, but never caught a UK tour.

That's cool @reecegeorge - I'm not going to name my sources (mainly because I don't have to). Totally up to you whether you believe me or not!

Gamechanger. - of course you don't. It just feels a bit snooty for anyone, not just you, to say well I know this and you don't but I'm not telling you how I know. Something feels off about that to me.

As much as it is frustrating (frankly I'd rather people didn't bother posting any rumours until they can reveal their source, but I'm in the minority on that), there are posters who do have reliable sources but don't reveal them, presumably because the mole would get sacked and the source of information would go with them!

I'm not saying he doesn't. But that doesn't mean he knows 100% this time around. I feel like I'm sticking up myself here for some reason and I don't understand why haha. The attitude to say well it isn't this and it isn't that is aggressive. How can you say that? Unless it's coming straight out of the horses mouth, it can't be fully trusted. I hate rumours, in general anyway. So I see no place for them here, in my honest opinion. To be shot down for having a guess/opinion, is kinda gross. And in terms of a mole, that person should be sacked in whatever situation. Nobody likes a mole.
