Lots of people who read the forum enjoy the rumours and speculation, and many greatly appreciate the hints posted by members who work in the industry and are privy to information which is not generally out there yet. There is rarely any malice in it, by which I mean deliberately trying to wind people up. People who post stuff which turns out to be incorrect are usually the first to admit they were wrong and it’s usually because plans genuinely changed.
So I’d disagree that “there’s no place for it here”. The mods are aware that some people don’t like it, but the majority rules on this one. If we did think that people were deliberately trying to annoy/wind people up or mislead them then we would take action on a case by case basis.

Ok, well let's just see how it turns out instead of saying; "but its not going there" or anything similar. Could you agree the response I got to a simple suggestion was a touch harsh and possibly egotistical? If I am honest, I felt insulted to be shut down in the manner. I got the impression they wanted to show off. At the end of the day, nobody knows until the press releases come out. Rumours are something that should stay on the playground.

Savoy is a better choice should it become available. Maybe, Beetlejuice at the Lynn in 2021 should they pull off a miracle and run until next September on Broadway there may be a desire for a West End transfer.

I wonder if School of Rock will tour? It doesn’t seem that it would be that difficult to tour although finding local kids in each tour stop who can sit and play instruments might be tricky.

Would be interesting if it does tour - I don't know if it did or didn't in the US (probably for that very reason!)

I wonder if School of Rock will tour? It doesn’t seem that it would be that difficult to tour although finding local kids in each tour stop who can sing and play instruments might be tricky. Would be interesting if it does tour - I don't know if it did or didn't in the US (probably for that very reason!) It is currently touring the US but I imagine it’s a lot easier to find local kids since they don’t have to do triple casting like in the UK.

Last I heard there were no plans to ever tour, mainly because of the issue of finding children suitable for the band. If it ever tours I see it doing longer stints in only a few venues rather than visiting a lot of theatres for only a week or so. Just seems easier to find suitable talented kids that way

Closing March 2020 according to rumours on Twitter. It's actually my rumour lol If you try to book after 1st March, there's only a very limited number of tickets available at 75quid, it's a bit of tell-tell sign. I've had people tell me it's definitely closing aswell. theatrefan.co.uk/rumour-school-of-rock-to-close/

I’m surprised if it’s not running until April. It’s had a good run but I imagine ALW has something else in mind for the Gillian Lynne

Perhaps a stint of his new Cinderella prior to Broadway?

Surely loads of availability would make you think it's days are up!?

Surely loads of availability would make you think it's days are up!? Because if you see how it's selling prior to 1st March (Most dates only about 50% or less of tickets sold), then check after, you would probably suspect that the dates have been limited to deter people from booking. They are all variations of about around 15 or less tickets for the 1st & and 2nd row in the stalls (no where else), at 75 quid for every date after 1st March, which is obviously odd.

Nobody other than tourists ever pays £75 for SOR. It's in the £25-£45 banding after offers/discounts.

Very peculiar! Surprised they won’t just keep going to the booking date but it must mean something is planned for the venue pretty quickly

Dates in April are filled with tons of tickets so not sure why it would be inferred that it’s closing?

Sorry, but if this turns out to be true I'm going to rant and rave and scream and shout and stick my middle finger out.
Wreck my room and rip my jeans and show them what rebellion means.

Wonder if I should catch it before it closes. I see every ALW show and this is one I haven't got around to. I don't think I'll hate it, but not sure I'll love it.
If I can get an absolute bargain (good seat) then I'll go!

If I can get an absolute bargain (good seat) then I'll go! If you like the film, you should like the show, so I would start there if you haven't seen the film before. They use a lot of the same music from the film, with lots more added, which is one of the main reasons I like it. You can easily get a very good £20/£25 seat from the box office on the day, but the theatre isn't huge so I don't think you can go wrong wherever you are sat.
