Saw this last night in Plymouth with westendcub. The show is in good shape. Definitely worthy of a west end transfer.

Saw this on Saturday night at Newcastle - a good way to relax before the Great North Run!
The set just about fitted on the smaller stage, there was certainly less space at the sides, but it didn't detract from the show at all. Through a combination of school trips and my own visits I have now seen this tour 5 times, and the cast are my favourite overall since the originals, especially now Neil Roberts has taken over as Mr Banks. Rebecca Lock, Matt Lee and Wendy Ferguson were outstanding. I cannot fault Zizi Strallen's performance but there is something I don't quite gel with, my favourites so far being Laura Michelle Kelly and Lisa O'Hare. But I am more than happy to put this down to personal taste rather than any inadequacy on her part. Overall though, its wonderful to see a tour in such great shape - after all the controversy over Ghost, its a great reminder that being on tour doesn't have to mean low quality and stunt casting.

Really excited to see this in Cardiff in January. Saw it when it toured years ago and looking forward to seeing this production of a fave!

There was loads of speculation about a season in the West End? Any updates?

There was loads of speculation about a season in the West End? Any updates? A lot of people thought and hoped it would go to Drury Lane but since 42nd Street is going there, not sure now? Unless it goes to the Palladium for a season next year or 42nd street is only limited? really hope it comes back to London!

The 2nd cover Christine Tucker was on as Mary on Friday night and the two Saturday performances - absolutely outstanding performances!
Her Mary is a softer one than Zizi's, but works extremely well. I much prefer her singing voice to Zizi's too - I find Zizi a bit harsh on the ears in the higher register.
For someone just a year out of training she's an incredible performer, and has a great career ahead of her!

I think maybe it could go into one of Mackintosh's smaller houses if the tour can fit into smaller theatres like Norwich or Newcastle, like ptwest's review says. Maybe the Noel Coward if Half A Sixpence doesn't extend?

I saw Christine Tucker as Mary (second cover) in the matinee today. She was sensational and had all the mannerisms (spit) spot on and a glorious voice.

Cannot believe this thread is only 6 pages, it deserves to be 75744336 pages long as it is such a spectacular production and the cast are sublime.
I saw it again on Saturday night (sadly the last show in Newcastle) and it was indescribably brilliant. The energy on that stage is astonishing.
If it comes anywhere near you.... go! If it isn't coming anywhere near you... catch a train. Catch a plane and go!
A true five star production.

The production values are so high, as shady23 said the energy on stage is absolutely amazing. The set is one of the best I've seen for a touring set, and the fact that they managed to fit the flying rig in (and have a grand total of zero no-fly shows!) is incredible. The cast were super-talented - my favourites were Christine Tucker, the 2nd cover Mary, who went on as Mary for just over a week while Zizi was on holiday and the 1st cover was out with an injury, and Wendy Ferguson as Mrs Brill - absolutely hilarious! Beg, borrow or steal a ticket for the last 2 venues on the tour (Bradford & Cardiff).

If you think that's impressive, stand watching the "get out" as they pack the entire thing into a single ladies' hand-grip bag... Brilliant! This just made me spit my tea!

Anyone else heard anything recently of this transferring back to the West End temporarily??
I was thinking and if FN were to happen at the Picc (not sure it will) then this could easily be a filler for then?
I would LOVE to see the show but as it didn't come anywhere near London on tour, never got to see it.

Poppins is doing an international tour so the likelihood of it transferring is zilch, also I doubt they'd go to the Piccadilly since it's an ATG theatre and it's too small

Southampton is only 1hr 20 on the fast triangle and Birmingham and Leicester aren't that much more

Likewise, saw this in December and loved it. I liked it much better than I remembered liking the last time around if that makes sense..

Saw this in Birmingham and Newcastle (having never seen it before) and I have to say it was probably the highest quality production I've ever seen on tour. Would love it to do a short West End return at some point - it was being looked at at one point so hopefully it comes to fruition sooner or later.

Saw this in Cardiff last night. Last saw it when it originally toured and loved it just as much this time! Made me feel like a kid again!

Me too katykate. Took my 13 year old son who absolutely loved it. Kids with the internet know all the surprises, but when she reappeared with the kite he audibly gasped.... and 'Step In Time' around that gigantic pros arch takes some balls! The lighting hid Berts wires for the first 3/4 from where we were sat so the effect was amazing. Like katy I enjoyed it so much more than when it first opened in Bristol ten years ago. Just such a quality production and the set is phenomenal...much better than the clunky house dropping from the rafters every five minutes. I could see it filling Drury Lane so well if it can use the WMC stage like that.
