Has an online lottery been announced yet for this similar to Aladdin? Are we expecting it to extend past March 2020? Not sure whether to pay for a ticket now or hold off for a lottery.

I haven’t heard anything yet about a lottery but I know that it is currently running till April 2020. Hope that helps

I must have entered the Aladdin lottery at least 30 times over the last 12 months but never won. Ditto Hamilton. If you don't want to miss the show I'd say it's a high risk strategy.

Does anyone know/think that Petula will have an Alternate for the role of the bird woman. Can’t see her doing all of the shows.

I imagine it'll be a fairly short contract - 3 or 6 months, but she only has 10 mins in act 1 and then 5 at the end (as theyve written her into Anything Can Happen) so it's hardly taxing!

So this is the touring version? Because the adverts brand it as 'The Supercalifragilistic Original'.

So this is the touring version? Because the adverts brand it as 'The Supercalifragilistic Original'. I keep wondering this - the assumption was it's the tour but you're right with the posters. I'm fairly sure the original house no longer exists, so it'll be the touring version of that, but the rest of it maybe a hybrid of the original and tour? I mean, I'll be able to tell you exactly how it all works after first preview!

Sorry if this has already been said, but what were the big differences between the original production and the tour?
I'm sure I'll love it either way, but it'd be interesting to know.

I guess the way that the house is done is the big difference - in the Prince Edward it was absolutely enormous, where as on tour the house was a bit like a popup book. A few of the magic tricks (beds appearing etc) were done differently on the tour too (those are the things that spring to mind- it's been 3 years since i saw the tour!)

Some of the illusions weren't as impressive on the tour which I would assume be down to a lack of trapdoors / lifts on and under the stage but other than that, the tour was extremely impressive. Maybe the creative team will be able to do more given that this is running for a lot longer than it would at any individual tour venue.

CamMac isn't normally one to scrimp on his productions, and the Prince Edward can certainly handle any technical challenge you throw at it, so I don't see any reason why he wouldn't have considered bringing the original design back. I guess the question is does he think it'll run long enough to recoup that extra expenditure?

I just saw this thread and completely forgot that I’d already booked tickets & now i’m very excited again aha! Delightful story, nice songs and a fantastic cast; can’t help but be excited.
Do we know if rehearsals have started yet or when they do?

Is the tour, on the Mary Poppins website the tour is described as the 'new version' and it is the 'first time the new version will be seen in London'.

Still mourning the loss of Temper, Temper. It FREAKED ME OUT when I saw it as a kid, but is now one of my favourites on the OLCR.

Cameron prefers the tour house and that’s what will be in London. They are adding a few new bits- cladding the proscenium etc but it’s the touring set so don’t go expecting it to blow your mind.

I don't know, my brother in law is a delivery driver and came across the Prince Edward House in an old aircraft hanger in Norfolk a couple of years back. Its definitely still floating about somewhere!

It was one of the first new pieces of music that really hit me, and I was so sad to find that it was no longer in the show! I know 'Playing the Game' fills the same hole, and essentially has the same melody, but in my opinion 'Playing the Game' is a far more Superior song!

I prefer "Playing the Game" because it is sung by Mary Poppins and the toys (whereas "Temper, Temper" was sung by the toys only--although this was a bit closer to what would have happened in the original books had there been such a scene!)
