I've said it ever since she lost for Sixpence, whatever she does next, whatever role she does, she will win that Olivier* because it's her time to win, she's catching up with Glenn now, and if she played Mrs. Banks, thats a great role, and she'd slay! *she better win the goddamn next one or I swear to Lucifer. |

And anyway, she's still touring Australia and Canada this year before Mary Poppins! |

Which makes me wonder who is the oldest actor to grace the west end as a regular cast member (and not just a one off concert etc). Surely she’ll be up there in this? |

I'd held off booking, but Petula Clark is enough to push me over the line. Fantastic singer and, when I met her a few years ago, one of the most pleasant celebrities I've ever met.

From his Twitter feed both today and a few weeks ago, it seems that Mike Jibson was on the shortlist for this. In a way, he would have been more in the mould of David Niven/David Haig.
