Major disaster at work .. the IT dept seem to have tightened up security on the work computers/internet and so many websites are now blocked Most of the sites I use to book theatre tickets. I do so much ticket research and booking at work (on my breaks obviously ) now I can't. So damn annoying. Anyone else have this problem at work? This site still working though.. for now.

My office had the National Theatre blocked for a while, that was extremely awkward for me. If you have a reasonable enough rapport with them and there are particular sites you really would want unblocked (guessing sites like ATG and Delfont Mackintosh would be a good start), it's always worth going in with a smile and a brief list of URLs, explaining that you really do appreciate being able to access these websites on your breaks, and as they're just theatre websites, they're unlikely to ever have any NSFW content (well, the NT's poster for Cleansed gave me a few palpitations when viewing it in a work context) and they're not even likely to be super popular among your co-workers either. Always worth a try, right? At least you still have us though. What other ticket research resources could you possibly need?

Delfont works, ATG doesn't. Seems quite random what is blocked and what is not. I'm not a computer whizz and so have no idea how they do it! Yes maybe I will be brave and ask for a some to be unblocked!
Exactly at least I still have here for the theatre goss. The only other one that would be nice to have is theatremonkey - how dare they block that!!!

I can get in most sites at work but they 'closely monitor' internet use so only go on at lunch time. I've ended up bumping my data and using my phone though for things that just can't wait till lunch. Oddly my IT department have put a total block on Debenhams site, not sure why!!

This is one of the few “entertainment” sites I can access on my works iPad ☺️

For some reason, the only place I've found that blocks this site for me is the wifi in the Morrisons Cafe! Very random!

My work involves knowing a lot of what's going on online in various retail spaces and in pop culture, so they barely block anything. Pretty great!

At the last place I worked (a Japanese bank) Proboards was blocked but not Theatreboard - so I could browse this site using the alias but not log in as that went to the Proboards site...

I work in an IT Dept but I'm not an IT person as such so I know first hand what is blocked and what isn't. I only ever go on here and Whatsonstage as regards theatre stuff at work.

Lucky chumps. As I’m in a workplace that handles personal data, mobile phones are completely forbidden in the office, and the vast majority of internet sites are also off limits and as our computers are always being monitored we daren't risk straying onto message boards, Twitter etc. I have to wait till break time before I can retrieve my phone and post anything on here.

Theatreboard is blocked in my workplace (as are other discussion boards and social media) but I can book tickets. At least until the IT dept finds out that I often spend 4 hours queueing for tickets on Almeida/Donmar websites... Ah well. Priorities.
