Does anyone else's internal jukebox refuse to switch off?
Granted it goes quiet - usually (on a good day) - when I'm trying to get to sleep, but recently anytime between 3-6am it kicks in and I wake up with songs spinning in my head. Constantly. This morning I woke up with the weirdest mash of Faith No More's 'Epic' and 'One Night Only' from the Dreamgirls OLCR that just wouldn't end. Most days I'm fine with music constantly playing in my head, but this recent inner alarm clock is starting to get to me.

I currently have "Gimme Gimme" from Thoroughly Modern Millie stuck in my head. I blame watching the Live from Lincoln Center broadcast of Sutton Foster's concert.

I always find myself singing this whenever I look at the Kinky Boots thread.
Every. Single. Time.

I always feel someone else has put a load of money in the machine, programmed all the songs I loathe and then walked out of the pub. This morning it was Wild Thing by Tone Loc, the sort of sexist rubbish I hate. I wondered who'd had the kindness to add it to the playlist.

I once read that singing “Private Dancer” by Tina Turner was a sure fire way to get rid of an ear worm. Apparently it doesn’t stick and erases all other songs.
It has always worked for me!

I once read that singing “Private Dancer” by Tina Turner was a sure fire way to get rid of an ear worm. The one I heard was the "One Ton Tomato" song, to the tune of Guantanamera and pronounced the American way: One ton tomato. I've got a one ton tomato. One ton tomaaayto. I've got a one ton tomato.

The one I read about was God Save the Queen. It is a dirge, totally without musical merit and gets you thinking of other things and…it works.

The Gruan wrote a bit on Mmmbob by Hanson the other day. Just seeing the headline was enough to set that off!

I explained Chess to a younger friend at the weekend, and we ended up in a Murray Head You Tube wormhole, and I've had the Arbiter song in my head ever since. I would quite like to get it out.

Today I have a Super Mario Brothers song in my head. I don't remember if it's from the old Super Mario 2 or 3. I'll have to click through Spotify to figure it out!

Today I have "About a quarter to nine" from 42nd Street. But it's actually 9.30 now so I'm behind.

Today's song is really annoying as it's literally one line. Thomas Jeffersons coming hoooome!
