One of those castings is practically correct. I know they are in the finals for one of the roles.
All Orpheus are required to play the guitar in the auditions

I found that Ava had really poor diction in Hamilton; swallowed an awful lot of lyrics. I’d need better.

I'd love to see Jack Wolfe (Next to Normal) as Orpheus and Marisha Wallace (Guys & Dolls) as Persephone. And I know this is completely outside the box (as he's not a musical theatre performer!) but Nick Cave has always been my dream Hades.
Hermes and Eurydice are the hardest to fancast for me. Andre De Shields and Eva Noblezada are so iconic in these roles.

I really hope the above nearly correct/through to finals guess is Nathania Ong, who I'd love to see in this. Earl Carpenter, too, but that feels less likely to me somehow. I'd be happy to be surprised! My preferred Orpheus would be Rhys Whitfield. Very excited to see this again next March, whoever's in it - it's one that's more about the show than the cast for me, although I thought Reeve Carney was distractingly uncharismatic at the NT.

All Orpheus are required to play the guitar in the auditions What's Arthur Darvill up to at the moment? For some reason I thought he would be too old to play Orpheus, but he's only 41 and Reeve Carney is 40, so now he's my choice for the role

Could Reeve be returning for this? Unlikely. I think he’ll stick in New York with Eva and he’s scheduled on the broadway cruise in March.

I'm rooting for Jamie Muscato for Orpheus. He'd be perfect in the role, just imagine Wait For Me. He even plays the guitar which is a must for the role.
I'd also like to see Lauren Drew as Persephone. She has a crazy amount of energy, would be interesting to see her take on the role.

Seeing as this is a show based on Greek mythology, I don’t see why they’d need to use American accents for the transfer? The run at the Nash was different because they brought over a mostly American cast.

It wouldn't be strictly necessary but the aesthetic and score of the show is so closely tied to prohibition/depression era USA and New Orleans specifically that I don't think it would be as effective in anything but American accents.

I think it's the grungy bar type setting, jazzy/bluegrass master of ceremonies etc. I guess they could make it more British. Maybe set it in a Spoons.
