While each time I have a listen, I have to *force* myself to stop at the end of Act I to not be totally spoiled when I'm finally able to see it live. Which I kind of am anyway, from reading so much about the show

My vote would go to Carly Mercedes Dyer, who deserves a big break in London. Seconded! She's definitely got the voice and that amazing stage presence, I don't know if there's much dancing in Hadestown as I'm only familiar with the cast recording but she is also an excellent dancer so would have that sorted as well. Plus she's already been in the show (she was one of the Fates in the National run I believe?) so would be familiar with the material.

Not really dancing per se, Persephone just does a bit of strange bopping around that anyone could handle. But she needs A LOT of charisma, which Carly had in buckets in Anything Goes. Checking back, Gloria Onitri was the English understudy for Persephone at the NT and I'm sure she'd do a great job too.

Am I right in thinking the original NT cast included that awful woman who declared homosexuality to be evil or something?

Oh I do hope she’s enjoying her shifts at Greggs or wherever she ended up.
Carly Mercedes Dyer as Persephone please ( If we don’t get Amber Grey)

Can we have Eva over from Broadway (even if it's just a few months- Like Idina did for Wicked)

Just a thought for a potential theatre, the Broadway theatre owner is merging with ATG so could that point towards an ATG theatre over here?
Walter Kerr is 975 so if they're looking for something similar, I'm thinking the Savoy? Currently has nothing in for 2024.

The stage is half the width for one. I love people here suggesting theatres for shows when they have absolutely no idea how big they are

The Pinter is not suitable for musicals of scale. I suspect it'll be going to either the Gillian Lynne or the Lyric.

Well it definitely won't be Gillian Lynne seeing as Standing at the Sky's Edge will be there for 6 months in 24.

Advance bookings open tomorrow - Wed 10 May - for NT Members so there must be a theatre chosen. I'm thinking Noel Coward Theatre. Remember when it was the New Theatre Oliver! started it's record breaking run in the 60s there so the stage is big enough. I think if Hadestown was going there, Delfont Mackintosh would also have allocation but can't rule it out.

Yesterday on the What’s On section of the NT website, there was a bit at the bottom about Hadestown stating that member booking opened 10th May and general booking would open on 19th May (basically an advert encouraging people to become members) - that is no longer there.

Eva is leaving the Broadway production in August …. Could it be a sign she’s coming to London ?
