Although with booking opening immediatly means it could be difficult to plan for a group of friends to go and bag the best tickets

I haven't checked the repertoire for the YV but it is usually dealt with in plays. If they put on a musical, then someone can start a thread for it in musicals. By the title it would seem that MND, the musical might be dealt with in either place! Helpful, aren’t I? I’m guessing the OMGs in plays and the What funs in Musicals. Go with the flow.

I always get nervous when a new season is so heavily branded around the person programming it. I get nervous because I can't be faffed to go for his full name so would prefer KKA. But if you say it too quickly you could run into all sorts of other problems. |

Yawn. Following Norris in his devotion to USA theatre - all 3 with a USA writer credited - what is it with their obsession about USA ? That's terribly unfair. There are actually 4 plays, all with a USA writer credited - other one is "Thing of Dry Hours" by Naomi Wallace in the Clore. youngviclondon.wordpress.com/Very odd, does feel like he's just imported a season from his previous job! Also this means that since The Jungle finished its run in Jan 2018, every main house show until March 2019 is from a US writer. |

They haven't announced the small space shows yet either, and he has said he wants more European shows for his second season. |

Oh poo. I misread the 'Twelfth Night' adaptation as by Shania Twain and got all excited with what she was going to do with 'Man! I Feel Like A Woman'. Then I read it more carefully.
Sorry Kwame, that don't impress me much.

Only thing that caught my eye there is Jesus Hopped The 'A' Train, but that isn't on for another 10 months so not going to bother booking that far in advance (certainly not without knowing who is supposed to be in it), otherwise: yawn, indeed. Something makes me think we're going to get a lot of similarly dull, worthy sounding productions at the YV for the foreseeable future.

But he announced he was specifically seeking input from the local community to see what they wanted at the YV. Seems they must have said they wanted to see more stuff from America and about the American experience ? My opinion is his first programme (and not his entire tenure as you are pretending I said to fuel your faux outrage) is boring. Am I not allowed to say that ? All we know so far about your opinion is you disapprove of my opinion - not very constructive or interesting for anyone else. |

Calling our old chum Cardinal Pirelli - interested in your opinion - anything here indicate the YV's reputation as a home for directors' theatre is being maintained ? Looks very writer-based to me.
