For any Once fans out there there is a regional production starting at The New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich from 6th September. I've missed this show a lot so looking forward to another production.

It's a co-production with the Queen's Theatre, Hornchurch. Ispwich first, then Hornchurch in October.
The tour is only visiting towns that end with ch!

The video that they released a while ago to advertise this looks fantastic. Been desperate to see it again since it closed in the West End, will definitely be trying to get to Hornchurch.

Watched it in ipswich and thought it was on a par with west end version (and obviously better than the time with Ronan who had zero range and lowered notes) |

From what I’ve been told after the first preview, they only had 3 preshow songs instead of usual 6 for the West End/Dublin productions.
But the had my nost cherished one (Raglan Road), so I’ll be fine

The video above does look like a good production (though personally not keen on some outfit choices). Shame this isn’t doing a full UK tour. With the right cast and a good marketing campaign there would definitely be an audience for it. Having been lucky enough to see it 4 times in the West End I’d love to see it return to a smaller venue.

Anyone know if the front row has a decent view at the Queen's Theatre, Hornchurch? I've just checked the seating on the only day I can go and that row is completely available (and slightly discounted), which always makes me wonder why.

My friend had checked that for me and said the sightline was alright. She could see pretty much everything except for the moment when Girl played the piano and was hidden behind it. |

Made it to Hornchurch tonight. A really good production!
Row A seating is perfect. It’s a low stage and you rarely miss anything. Central view and you’re almost on the stage.
The whole auditorium layout is great. One level, sloped so a good rake and what looked like good leg room as well. Front row legroom excellent as you’d expect.
A well-behaved audience and close to a sell out. I didn’t buy food or ice cream but the prices seemed reasonable. Downside is it’s a bit of a trek on the tube.
I had a few super fans near me (all well-behaved), which was useful as they reminded me how different the staging is from the West End. I saw this twice in the West End but from a long way back. Connected a lot more tonight.
This is a completely new production. Simpler staging, but still effective. No on stage bar. The pre-show was five songs (three sung, two instrumental) starting about 10 minutes before the show.
Excellent sound. Actor/musician, same as the West End, Seemed like a few ad libs (plus some scripted ones). I won’t single out any of the cast as they were all great, particularly the leads.
There was a Q&A after. Some notes.
Dan (Guy) was in the West End cast, Guy understudy and played the role once. Thinks this version has more heart. Got confused for a while with some of the new song arrangements.
Most of the cast had seen the West End run and felt pressure to match up to it.
The pre-show isn’t planned and is different every night (could tell that tonight as one of the singers was inventing words as needed). The musicians enjoy jamming together.
This version is planned to tour in 2020, but there are still some rights issues being ironed out.
Catch it while you can! Recommended!

I saw this last week and gosh it's a gorgeous little show isn't it? Just feels really special, with beautiful music and such a human story. I adored John Tiffany's direction of the original production. Peter Rowe's is much less subtle but no less effective. And the cast are pretty fantastic too. I saw two Guys on the West End (David Hunter, who I think is just brilliant in everything, and Ronan Keating whose performance I enjoyed too) and I'm glad to have now added Daniel Healy to that list. Did anyone see him understudy the role on the West End? I was so enthralled by the realness of his performance. Emma Lucia was equally wonderful as Girl. If You Want Me felt completely magical. I loved the warmth she brought to the role. You really felt the connection between the two characters from the off. I got goosebumps several times and was definitely holding in my tears at the end. This is a show which I want everyone who loves theatre to see. If only Hornchurch wasn't such a trek out or else I'd be back in a heartbeat!
