Siubhan still leaving 14th and suggests Oliver is too. She says it will be an 'interesting week for those watching' due to slightly different cast. Maybe Richard will come in from tour.

I've just booked for closing 'night'. I would have gone to Siubhan's last instead but have a wedding that day. Will be weird coming out of a closing night performance and it still being light!

How interesting. In this interview, Rebel said she got a couple of offers for the West End! I wonder what the other show(s) were she was offered?

Interesting.. Off the top of my head, I can't think of many she could be offered in current West End shows. Then again I never thought of her being Miss Adelaide, but it worked!

Saw the matinee and I loved it. Much more to my humour in Adelaide and Nathan than when I saw it at the Savoy. But at that time I was in the upper circle and today front row, so I automatically felt more connected with the show.

It's annoying that the website is down at the moment, so for next week is the cast: Oliver Thompsett, Siubhan Harrison, Rebel Wilson and Simon Lipkin?

I would presume the understudies will replace Siubhan and Oliver now for the last week. Wouldn't a cast announcement been done by now if tour members were coming in

Just got round to seeing this for the first time thanks to walking past the box office just after 10. Rebel was a bit... odd... and quite broad in her humour but it was fine. A fun production.

Seeing this on Saturday night and really looking forward to it!
I know nothing of the show and haven't listened to a cast recording.... I wouldn't have ordinarily chosen a show like this but the stunt casting for me with Rebel worked!

Rebel Wilson should be an absolute disaster in this. She doesn't have much projection in her voice, she is a pretty average singer, a bit vulgar, doesn't know what to do with her hands and is so OTT and mugs to the audience so much that even Sophie Thompson would have thought "too much" BUT she is absolutely glorious, really fabulous. She is the absolute definition of star quality. Plus she's got a smile that could light up Blackpool Tower. I loved her. Her chemistry with Simon Lipkin is fabulous and he really matches her every step of the way (he's also got great chemistry with Oliver Tompsett too).
Their 'Sue Me' is a real highlight. Rebel's mugging reaches new heights that when she gets to her final whispered "I could honestly die", it's genuinely heartbreaking.
Although if you didn't like Sophie Thompson's performance, I'd avoid it as Rebel ramps it up 200%.

Just booked to see Rebel in this on Sunday. I had no real desire to see it again as I didn't think it was great at the Savoy, just good, but I am a big Rebel fan so look forward to seeing her in the role and hopefully enjoying the show a bit more.  |

Managed to get a £15 ticket for Tuesday night. Towards the back of the Upper Circle but Theatremonkey has it as a white seat so I'm happy with that. Can't really complain at that price!

The view from the Upper Cirlce at the Phoenix (even at the back) is really exceptional for the price - it feels as close as a dress circle! A proper bargain I think |
