I really do think it's unfair to judge her on that tiny snippet!

Can Judi Dench sing? No. Does she knock it out the ballpark when she does?!

I am actually quite stunned with her interview on Graham Norton, she has only been in the UK a week and a half before her debut and she admitted she is not prepared. Whether she was joking or not, it can be hard to tell with her!
She did confirm in the interview also that she is wearing the full on leotard-type showgirl outfits, she has been fitted for them.
Here is the full interview, she sings a song at 24:50 from the show but starts discussing Guys & Dolls around 22:00.

It'll be interesting to see who they get to replace Rebel in August. The show is running until Jan so it'll be interesting to see if they still keep doing well at the box office up until then. They have quite a few cast changes in this show!

I must get myself down to the Phoenix to see this with Rebel out of sheer intrigue (Also a Simon Lipkin fan so that will be good to see).

Look what that turned out to be That was only ever one tweet from someone stirring the pot surely anyway which led to some reaction online. Let's not turn this thread into a discussion about Sheridan as well, there's enough of that going on in the Funny Girl thread. Anyone going to Sam's last show today? (I assume she didn't finish yesterday?)

I'm looking back at the 2005 production, and they had some great cast members! Ewan McGregor as Sky as well as some fantastic Adelaides! Jane Krakowski, Sarah Lancashire and Samantha Womack to name a few!

I saw that production with Ewen McGregor and Sarah Lancashire. Dinner at the Ivy afterwards and sat next to Grace Jones who even had a little chat with me. Patrick Swaysee took over afterwards which I also saw.

Patrick Swaysee was the one who played opposite Samantha Womack, was she good?

Sarah hardly did any shows... Ewan was terrible in it.. Samantha Womack was very good I seem to remember.

And wasn't Patrick Swayze in it opposite Claire Sweeney?

I am not sure many tickets will have been sold after this interview but I think it will work. It's also that kind of comedy part where you can really ad lib your way through a lot of it

Sarah hardly did any shows... Ewan was terrible in it.. Samantha Womack was very good I seem to remember. Yes I read that Sarah got ill and left the show, was Ewen really bad? I bet he was a name drawer though, Sam seemed wonderful! She'd make a great Paulette in LB! Did you ever see Jane Krakowski in it, I bet she was marvellous! And yes I think that Claire Sweeney was in it opposite Patrick too! I know she's one of the few to have played both Adelaide and Sarah!

I disagree, i really liked ewen although he may have been a bit too 'nice'. That opening cast were sensational

Jane Krakowski was great but it was Jenna Russell who upstaged all of them. She really was a revelation.

Well I was really disappointed with Jenna Russell. Really like her in everything else I've seen her in but her Sarah Brown was very weak. Maybe the main problem was her lack of chemistry with Ewan McGregor who was imho quite awful. For me Jane Krakowski was the saving grace in that production and the best Miss Adelaide I've ever seen.

I am thinking of heading back to see the show once again. I thought it was good the last time I saw it in January at the Savoy, but was disappointed too because of the hype and the idea of it being a legendary show I couldn't understand why as I didn't think it was that great.
I am more drawn because of the casting of Rebel in truth! More because I wanna see what it is gonna be like with her in that role.

Was at the show this afternoon for Sam and Nigel's performance.
Had seen the show at the Savoy and loved it just as much at the Phoenix. Sam Spiro is a phenomenon, and I love her. Adelaide's Lament was hilarious the first time and heartbreaking the second time. Nigel is as wonderful now as he was the last time he did it. Oliver Tompsett is gorgeous. And SO good. Its been so long since I saw him on stage and he is just a great actor (I grant though, no one is gonna play Sky like Jamie Parker) Siubhan actually was great, and I think its because she worked a lot better with Sam than with Sophie Thompson (who I loved dont get me wrong). Just they worked as a team better.
Evening still goes to Gavin Spokes and Sit Down You're Rocking The Boat. For me, thats the best ensemble moment in a musical EVER.
Hopefully will see it once more (but will wait to see who they cast after Rebel....)
