Also both opera productions in the Linbury (Berenice and Phaedra) seemed to have sold out before public booking too. Currently a few tickets for every performance of the previously sold-out Phaedra available on the ROH website

I didn’t see it (sadly or I would have booked!) but from comments I saw on twitter tickets for most dates did turn up at one point

It’s been a while but back tomorrow for Don Quixote and then again on Wednesday for, uh, Don Quixote. I’d been reading this excellent interview with Marcelino Sambé ( www.pointemagazine.com/marcelino-sambe-ballet-2633056877.html ) and “accidentally” grabbed a rush ticket to see him perform in the week. Very excited to give this production a try again.

ctas Are you seeing the matinee or evening Don Q? I'm seeing the matinee, having already seen it with Nunez/Muntagirov last month.

But came all the way to the Barbican and they cancelled the MET screening of Die Walküre. Cry

So sorry Dawnstar - I didn't see your message! I was around B81, so close! It was a really beautiful performance. Can't wait for Wednesday now!

ctas That's okay. I knew you might well not see it in time but thought I@d give it a go. Yes, it was very enjoyable & I thought Mayara Magri made a very successful Kitri debut. I'm not seeing it again this run but I'd definitely see it again the next time it get revived.

Booking the summer season today and found out that no tickets have been kept for general booking for The Diary of One who Dissapeared and is totally sold out. Surely for an organisation that gets a large amount of public subsidy, they Royal Opera has a responsibility to make sure that the public actually get to see their shows and not just those who pay large sums for early booking!! I thought they would have rectified the Linbury issue after Berenice and Phaedra had exactly the same issue.

Public booking opens tomorrow though - think it was students today? - so isn't it too early to say if they've held any back for public booking.

Their reply to me asking if any would be released tomorrow was to say to check nearer the performances which I took to mean that they wouldn't release any tomorrow.

That is annoying! Once again the only thing I'm interested in is already sold out. This never used to be a problem previously with the Linbury as far as I remember?

I personally couldn't care less about the Linbury, but I appreciate it is super annoying when all of the tickets go to members.

Confirmed - I was on the site at 9:00 and Diary of a Man Who Disappeared was already sold out. With only 3 performances it was always going to an uphill task, completely agree a disgrace considering the ACE funding they get. We are funding them to keep us out.

Finally, after over 2 months of checking the ROH website pretty much every day, I've managed to get a ticket for Berenice this evening!

For those looking to go to Diary... it might be worth reading this thread in the ballet forum when choosing seats. The sightlines at the Linbury are pretty poor in places, and that thread has a decent number of responses about good & bad areas.
