I had a booking for the Thursday matinee at Oxford plus, unfortunately now, non-refundable rail travel tickets between Paddington and Oxford. Hold fire for now. They have had an easement on the advance conditions allowing a fee free exchange up to 6pm the day before travel. Officially speaking, this ended yesterday but I think there's a good chance of this being extended. Alternatively, a lot of trains are being cancelled due to staff shortages. If your journey is cancelled, you'll be entitled to a refund. Good info, thanks. The train fares between Paddington and Oxford are very low - just £3.55 with my railcard each way booked a couple of weeks in advance. It costs me more than double that to get from Kent to Paddington and back on the day. (Oxford matinees work well for me - apart from the low fares a fast journey back at 17.32 gets to Paddington at 18.30 which is just right for an evening show in the West End. The front row stalls at Oxford has loads of legroom, it's not a high stage, and they usually have senior matinee prices. There's also not the uncertainty about what will actually be the front row which is often the case at Woking and Wimbledon)

There's also not the uncertainty about what will actually be the front row which is often the case at Woking and Wimbledon) You say it's not a high stage, but we must remember those who have disabilities or are of smaller stature, and mustn't judge whether a stage is high or not based on our own perspective. If a little person were to see the show up close, they might find the stage very high.

SNF should be at Darlington this week but showing as postponed. It didn't happen at Truro either and had sold well there.
Still scheduled at the Peacock Theatre from February 4th. There was a discount offer via London Theatre Direct when I looked a few days ago but it seems to have been withdrawn now.

I caught the matinee yesterday (Sunday) thanks to a £20 Rush ticket in what would have been a premium seat in the centre of the Stalls (a clear view, although I have preferred to have been a few rows nearer the front).
This version of the show has toured for a few years now (with the necessary break) and there's not really that much more to add to my previous review. A lot of the same cast have returned. Always great to see Michael Cortez.
This did feel "bigger" than the tour version, so perhaps the ensemble is slightly bigger. It is performed very well although I don't necessarily think it's the best musical and comes across as dated in many ways.
I was lucky enough to have no one in the seats directly in front and a clear view, but also I don't see this selling out. The production has arrived in London rather quietly. They also seemed to be downplaying "the Bee Gees" being there, Worth seeing at Rush pricing.

A bit of a delayed review from me after seeing the matinee on Wednesday as part of a double bubble with Cinderella in the evening so decided to pick up a Rush Ticket on the morning, the last time I saw any production of this was at the Apollo Vic back on the last night in February 2006!
I wasn't sure what to expect after reading reviews and comments about a rehashed version but I was not expecting that!
Well what can I say it was certainly not what I was expecting, the show started and from the off it felt like it was lacking in energy which didn't improve as it went on!
Lets start with the music, I have to say to strip the music back and have it more Bee Gees original was disappointing as I could have listened to that at home and think the musical arrangement from previous productions added that energy with the extra dance breaks (Night Fever, You Should Be Dancing for eg...) put into the arrangement in those productions and was something different as part of the experience. I didn't like the cast hardly singing and the use of what I can only describe as an average Bee Gees tribute act (sorry just how I feel) I felt that it took the emotion out of the characters and made it hard to buy into them.
Choreography was a bit to same old same old from track to track and got a bit boring and was disappointed to see that for the main the Arlene Phillips choreograph from previous productions has largly not been used which is a shame as I thought that was one of the plus points in the Original production (and that is coming form someone who normally dislikes Arlene Phillips's Choreography). There is no doubt that the cast could dance but this seemed to be too easy for them and as a result they looked bored! As for the Billy Elliott (Angry Dance) impression during Immortality was a little bit strange and seemed pointless apart to show off Richard Winsor's dance skills.
The set and lighting was quite well thought out you can tell its a touring production as the set looks scaled down with the movable stairs and bridge with the band up there, The set is about right for this day and age with the projection onto the back screen and the lighting was good with the dance floor and mirrorballs.
The cast I am not going to comment on too much as it would be unfair to say good or bad as they have to work with what they are given! The stand out bit for me was the girl playing Stephanie (Sorry I don't know what she is called) when she sang her solo was amazing great voice and unexpected from the rest of what I heard.
Overall very disappointed with this production as it could have been so much better (even for a touring production) than it was, on the plus point its another current musical in the west end which leaves only 1 I haven't seen out of the current productions!

They let a lot of people down with the last “tour that never was”. There was no explanation why, it wasn’t covid we were out of it by then. I do hope they’re going to make sure they can meet the commitment this time before selling tickets. There’s a good will issue here, people who booked before and got screwed over* might not be so willing to book again.
*I never got an email from ATG.
