Hopefully if it gets postive reviews it might tour. I never got to see the west end version and loved the film, so fingers crossed!

Yes, definitely go if you can. I saw it last week and loved it. The cast are exceptional, and the production itself is very well done.

I'm going on Saturday afternoon! I don't think it's selling very well - I was supposed to go on Saturday evening but because of the snow couldn't get there, and they just swapped me to a very similar seat next weekend instead. I've heard excellent reviews.

This will transfer to the West End.
Saw this today and it is nothing short of marvellous, nearly 2 hours flew by.
On paper this sounds a complete bore, just a rehash of a interview done 40 years ago, however Peter Morgan has put in other characters to break up the mundanity of an interview, speaking of which Jonathan Hyde who played The protagonist Nixon was excellenr as was Kate Hewitt direction. The production qualities was superb too.
Timing is everything , think of the musical Thriller and it got legs because of the untimely and the surprise death of Michael Jackson. The same will happen here, because of Trump and North Korea. That s why it will end up in the West End.

I saw this today too. Nearly missed it because of traffic and RAN in at the very last second, so I didn't get a programme or a pre-show wee or anything. It was excellent - time flew by. I know next to nothing about Nixon (I just about remember him as a child, but only just - I was small when the interviews aired) - beyond scandal/Watergate/resignation that's about it. Maybe it helped that I had no idea, because I couldn't tell you what he looked or sounded like, and I had no idea how the interviews would turn out.
I found it really tense and pacey, and I also really liked the fabulous 70s hair and costumes. I'd happily see it again, which is a nice change from the last few things I've seen at the Crucible.

I've just been listening to Jonathan Hyde being interviewed on the radio and he said that 'people' have been coming up from London to see it. Now I suppose he could have been referring to you, Phantom of London , or he could have been referring to 'people' (unless the whole LUL thing is a front). The problem is, where would it go? |

No chance he would be referring to me!!!!
The right theatre would become available, eventually such as the Harold Pinter, Haymarket, Duke of York or Noel Coward, don't think the transfer will be soon, maybe later this year when a suitable house comes available.
A well known play, which is as relevant today as when it came out.

I'm really tempted to try and go back and see it again on Saturday. I should be saving my money as things are a bit tight, but I'm so tempted. Plus I didn't buy a programme last week because we were so late, so I'd like to get one for my collection...

I was there tonight and they'd run out of programmes so don't waste a journey just for that! Otherwise, it was a great production and, like PoL suggests, it made dull premise become riveting. |

Caught the final performance this evening. It was nice to see the Crucible 3/4 full; when I saw this a few weeks ago it was practically empty. Daniel Rigby and Jonathan Hyde are just wonderful in this. Hopefully they'll get the chance to revive their performances some time soon.

I didn't go in the end. I would have liked to, but it was snowing and I was having a mini meltdown about my lack of money. I have to be very frugal for a few months, so I have to picky my theatre very carefully. I'd rather save the money towards something else rather than see something twice. But it was really good, and I'd have happily watched it again.
