If it’s of any interest the show that might replace Tarzan in the Metronom Theatre is Bat out of Hell. Nothing definite at this point but talks are happening.

Don’t know what language - at a guess I would say English songs / German dialogues.
Nothing has been decided though. It’s possible nothing will come out of the current talks. I think the producers are looking for something „We will rock you“ style as that kind of show seems to work quite well in Germany.

I think that’s well worth its own thread.

But Stage will ruin it with their cheap-ass mini orchestras, a terrible mish-mash of English and German, a mediocre cast of mostly foreign performers who can't get a single line of German out comprehensively, first casts being absent half the time and all this for ludicrous prices. I also don't see the huge stage set of BOOH fitting into the shoddy "Metronom Theatre" that's little more than a tent.
I've heard several comments on how much worse "Bodyguard" (now done by Stage in Stuttgart) is compared to the first production in Cologne (done by BB Promotion). Let Stage keep going with their fluffy Disney entertainment, but keep BOOH out of their clutches, so that BB Promotion can do the show properly at the Musical Dome in a few years and then maybe take it on tour, ideally completely in English - then they can also cast capable American and British performers.

^Ah, now I understand the No no no no, dear Gods of Rock, no. bit. Knowing you were a fan, I thought it a bit odd you were not welcoming a local production. I'd rather crawl across half of Europe on bare hands and knees over glowing coals to see it in London again (and again and again) than whatever mess Stage Entertainment will create here.

As someone who has had many in depth descriptions from viserys on the awfulness of Stage Entertainment I can testify that she is not exaggerating here. And that from the sounds of it is entirely justified.

So am sure there will be a massive market for Bat Out of Hell in Germany and feel sure the next European production will be there.
But yes by the sounds of things Oberhausen might not be the best plan!

It says “German language production” so I’m expecting something along the lines of We will rock you: German dialogues, some songs in English, some (probably badly) translated songs in German.
This is just my guess though.

I hope it will be fully translated... will make it so much easier to give the whole thing a wide berth. Steinman sounds terrible enough in German in Tanz der Vampire, I don't want to know how sh*tty iconic rock songs like Bat out of Hell would sound in German. Not to mention that Fledermaus is quite a mouthful compared to Bat If they leave the songs in English, I might just be tempted (watch that thought burn and die when the pricing is announced). I don't think that Fowler or anyone from the London cast would move to Germany though, why would they, it's a huge step down from starring in a West End show to the dregs of the Ruhrgebiet. I'm guessing it will be the usual bunch of cheap unknown Dutch, Swedish and British performers.

There was a thread for this already.
And as I predicted, it will be an utter disgrace and shambles as they will translate the whole show into German including all of Meat Loaf's legendary songs. So if Germans really want to hear "Die Fledermaus aus der Hölle", be my guest, but that's me out.
