So, what is the title of that song that you always skip when listening to a cast recording of a show you love?
The ones that instantly come to mind for me are:
Shuffle Off to Buffalo - 42nd Street Little Lotte - POTO Turning - Les Mis
Feel free to discuss and be prepared for unpopular opinions.

The first one that comes to mind right away is "Blood in the Water" from Legally Blonde. I don't like that song at all.

Thank Goodness from Wicked is the first one I thought of. It's so dull, I find it so boring to sit through in the show.

The Morphine Tango from Kiss Of The Spider Woman. Take that out and it is the perfect score imo. Castle on A Cloud/Master of The House - Les Miz

I forgot to mention "Loud" from Matilda. I hate it with a passion.

How do you feel about Lovely Ladies? (Same tune, different tempo...) (I’ve always thought that it was quite clever to give the female chorus the same song to sing, albeit with completely different lyrics and starkly different deliveries; both times they’re sung with the same feeling of weary acceptance.)

Can't take my eyes off you from Jersey Boys (I appreciate many fans love it but I've just overdosed on it completely).

Three of mine have already been said:
Shuffle Off To Buffalo - 42nd Street Blood In The Water - Legally Blonde Turning/Lovely Ladies - Les Miserables
Also: Notes/Prima Donna - Phantom (I don't dislike the melody, but I don't like the fact everyone sings over everyone else so you can't hear what anyone is singing) Always A Problem - Made In Dagenham The Legend of Loco Chanelle - Everybody's Talking about Jamie My Boyfriend's Back - Jersey Boys It's Too Late - Beautiful Crazy Little Huey - Memphis

Normally the supposedly comedy pastiche number in ALW shows; ‘The Lady’s Paying’, ‘UNCOUPLED’ ‘One More Angel in Heaven’ etc, ‘Wonderful’ and ‘A Sentimental Man’ from Wicked and ‘The American Dream’ in Saigon normally drives me round the bend. I know whats coming, “you amping up my stress levels with your unending fever dream dischordant merry go round tune doesn’t help!” 🤣

Yup, you're totally right, it's the same tune (except for the bits where the old lady is trying to buy Fantine's hair, etc) but I guess the tempo and the lyrics make me enjoy Lovely Ladies. Also, though I know we're not discussing scenes but songs, visually I really like Lovely Ladies and when I listen to this particular song can't help but picturing the scene in my mind, and I really like it. Am I making any sense? Lol.

Notes/Prima Donna - Phantom (I don't dislike the melody, but I don't like the fact everyone sings over everyone else so you can't hear what anyone is singing) When I visited the show 2 years ago in London, this scene really stood out to me in a positive way. For the first time there was a perfect balance in this song, I could hear every lyric perfectly, it felt like they had been working on that scene with extra care, the sound balance was perfect and even if 3 people were singing simultaneously I could still hear every lyric. It was like they did something with the sound system too. It also sounded very well rehearsed and clear and just became a wonderful moment of theatre. I have seen many productions of Phantom where this was not the case in that scene.

I love the music in Evita but I can't stand "Don't cry for me Argentina", I find it very dull compared to the rest of the lush score.

I don't usually skip songs if I am listening to a cast recording (and can't in the theatre of course!) but if listening to Whistle Down the Wind I usually start with I Never get What I Pray For (Missing The Vaults Of Heaven and Overture)

cannot stand „Bring him home“ from Les Mis and all Wizard songs in Wicked, otherwise i love the shows. Also don’t like „Bui doi“ from Miss Saigon very much, only version i loved was from Anton Zetterholm sung at a concert

I'm surprised at the amount of dislike for 'Wonderful' in Wicked, I rather enjoy that song, especially if the Wizard has a good voice. It's much more enjoyable than Thank Goodness, anyway - such a crap way for the second act to open.
