Was listening to Radio 2 this morning and they played Copacabana by Barry Manalow. It made me think that this could be fun revived. I rather enjoyed it first time around with Gary Wilmot. I really enjoyed the original production. A fun show, reminiscent of the golden age of musicals

Just listened to a podcast interviewing Sally Ann Triplett. Apparently she has investigated getting the rights to Kiss Of The Spiderwoman a number of times, without success. She is very keen to play Aurora! More than happy to pay to see that! Sally Ann Triplett is excellent and would be brilliant to watch. I’d love to see a production of On The Twentieth Century as well and whilst I love Jenna Russell, I do think we deserve a Bridges of Madison County with a legit soprano. Maybe just a concert for the both of them - but we are WAY overdue a revival of Nine and Brigadoon. On The Twentieth Century would be amazing! Could the Barbican entice Chenoweth over for a summer season? To be fair, she did do it 10 years ago now, and is currently tied up with a musical in the US, so it's unlikely. It feels more like we'll get a small, makeshift-y Southwark Playhouse version at some point than a full-scale revival, but we can dream! Speaking of The Southwark Playhouse, I still want a production of Applause with Tracie Bennett tbh!

I saw the press night of On the C20th at Her (as it was then) Majesty's. The Overture and opening (title) number were thrilling, but it was all downhill after. I really can't see it being a success now.
I also saw the press night of KotSW at the Shaftesbury (I did press nights back then). It was very enjoyable and SAT would tempt me back, but the big mismatch was the male chorus who were attempting to portray the staving inmates and the fantasy musical supremos - opposite ends of physical perfection! Still, I got to see Chita live on stage!

I recently saw a video of Laura Pitt Pulford singing a song from The Bridges of Madison County and I would kill to see her Francesca

Hi all I'm new here, but really enjoying reading all your news/comments. And it just struck me what musical all you afficionado would love to see revived. There are heaps of candidates of course but I'd like to see a production of Nine. A bit niche maybe but nevertheless.

Kander and Ebb's Flora the Red Menace. Saw it at Richmond Orange Tree in the late 1990s. It has a particularly lovely song called A Quiet Thing, originally sung by Liza Minnelli.

Windy City Irma La Douce Do I Hear a Waltz?
I would also love to see one of the old standards with a new book - many are unplayable now but contain superb music eg The Arcadians

A Little Night Music Fun Home Carrie Fun Home. 100%. But does it count as a revival if it’s exactly the same as the original run at the Old Vic? 😹

When I first set up the thread I mentioned Nine. Should have also included RAGTIME which surely deserves a revival, or at least an " in concert" version.

Anything by Kander and Ebb Dear World One touch of venus Candide Passion Sunday in the park with george I feel like we never get enough Kander and Ebb, despite the enduring appeal of Cabaret and Chicago. There are so many shows by them I've never seen, or only seen once long ago, that are ripe for revival (or a first UK staging.)

I would particularly like to Spiderwoman again and I think The Visit sounds great.
I know they get criticised from various sides but some new and souped-up Gilbert and Sullivan's could be fun.

I'd like to see How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying. I assume the man who wrote Guys and Dolls must have been able to write more than one musical of genius.

Did you see the recent revial at Southwark? It was widely panned and I can see why. The most happy fella is meant to have a great a score, one of those shows I'd always say I'd listen to but never got round to

Definitely up for a new bawdy folksy Beggar's Opera, maybe in rep with its' sequel, Polly. and yes to Ragtime, The Visit, steel Pier and the Hired Man.
