If anybody has seen either Pixie Lott or Emily Attack, does anybody think that either of them could become musical theatre stars in the future soon? Maybe a possible Elle Woods?

To be fair, Brighton do get some good plays visiting there. Lots of shows with big names prior to London too |

I was googling "celebrities smoking" the other day and up pooped a pic of Felicity with a ciggie on.
Gave me a turn it did. I mean, Felicity Kendall? Smoking??
Claire Balding is another. When she's not promoting sport and healthy living she's smoking like a chimney.
Jennifer Aniston.... Prince Harry.... They're all at it.

I get that celebrities smoke, but I always take it extremely personally when they're singers. It seems extremely careless somehow.

A pop star - turned serious actress, would give me sleepless night and the nights I do sleep horrid nightmares, but let me tell you that Pixie Lott is not just very attractive on the eye.
But the play itself is a very different kettle of fish, never seen the legendary movie, but then couldn't engage with what was going on, on stage.
A very easy day ticket, managed to ring up at 10:30 (thanks Theatre Monkey) and snag one for £16.50, when I got there, still empty seats in the day seat area, with the balcony closed off, cannot see sales picking up in all honesty, I would be really surprised if the critics go for this, where I found Pixie delightful, I think she might find it harder with the press.
Pixie Lott singing Moonriver was worth the admission alone.
Otherwise though a meagre 2 stars.

Went to this last night, I enjoyed this far more than my companion Warren. I think overall he found it just dragged and he didn't like the character of 'Holly' in the slightest - I always take it that at times you love her and you then you loathe her!
I was surprised how much I enjoyed Pixie's take on 'Holly' - it was impressive for a stage debut I thought!
It's very much closer to the novella in it's darkness, I liked this element but I did pine for some of the Hollywood sprinkle of the movie because this play does drag in places.
The set and design is excellent, it's a simple set but it looks good and draws you into their world (mainly the apartment block). I enjoyed the 3 music moments (Pixie showcasing a great voice) that it left me wondering if a musical version should ever be explored, I think with a strong score could work.
Is it a must see, it's not but worth a look if you come across it!

Pixie Lott ARRIVED for her own press night in a ball gown. I disliked her before and that has just made it worse.
No reviews anywhere for it ..? Is that because no one even cares enough to review it?

left me wondering if a musical version should ever be explored Been done by David Merrick on Broadway late 60s, I have the CD. Didn't work. It played the Majestic Theatre in New York, but didn't make it to the 5th preview. David Marrick pulled the plug and vowed he 'couldn't put the critics and audience through this trash.' |

I've found at least 4 reviews online this morning, ranging from 2 to 4 stars. I've never seen the film so were I to see this production, it wouldn't suffer by comparison, but in view of the mixed comments, I'd be looking for a very good deal.

I went to see it a week or so ago and have to agree with the lower end of the reviews.
The problem is that it's not a great story and Audrey Hepburn's exceptional performance is the only reason why the film was the success it was. This brings us to the main problem: they're using this as a vehicle to make a star out of Pixie Lott - who is a C-List celebrity with talent to match - when, because of Hepburn, it is a role for an actress to showcase her undeniable talent.

Look at the reviews Sarah Crompton from what's on stage is quite stoic that Pixie Lott cannot act, but on the other hand Michael Billington says she 'sparkles'.
Go figure.

I'm going to be uncharitable and suggest a person's response to Lott's performance depends on whether you fancy her or not. In fairness, from what I remember of the character, I think fancying her is a prerequisite to liking her.
