If I'm honest this really does not excite me. May go to Chichester to see this and I was quite hopeful it would be something a bit different , really loved Fiddler last year and liked that it was quite powerful and felt very relievent and personally wanted something that wasn't just a fun musical comedy. Let's see what else I is in their programme .Oh well it will probably be very good but just not really my cup of tea.

About time too!! I hope it gets a transfer to town as well. If they can get him back from Broadway, I'd like Gavin Lee as Bill please. Someone will say him sooner or later, but Charlie Stemp is too young for the role.

Personally I'm very happy as Me & My Girl is one of the few shows that have been sitting on my "must-see" list for many years.
Hopefully it will work out for me to actually see this in Chichester, never been there and always curious to see new places.

Emma Williams as Sally please - I just think she’d be perfect. And then yes get this back into the West End. Gavin Lee is a good shout as Bill.

Daniel Evans directed a great production of this at Sheffield in 2010. The cast featured Daniel Crossley as Bill, Jemima Rooper as Sally and Miriam Margolyes as the Duchess. Rumour has it that Damien Lewis had been slated to star as Bill but they couldn't get the dates to work.

Ah right. I have never seen it either - but loved the London revival cast album (Robert Lindsay and Emma Thompson)

I saw this too and it was great but it was not done by Evans - it was actually directed by Anna Mackmin.

Pretty sure someone before mentioned Taron Egerton's name to this? That would be great casting if it happened!

Ah right. I have never seen it either - but loved the London revival cast album (Robert Lindsay and Emma Thompson) And don't forget Susannah Fellows. Her singing 'Thinking Of No One But Me' is a masterclass in character and voice. Now I'm seeing her as being a fantastic Phyllis in Follies

Oh yes, that is a real highlight of the recording.
So many good tunes in that show. Once You Lose Your Heart is wonderful

I have never seen this too.
Although seen clips, I always thought James Corden would be superb in this, sadly though not to be.

I do hope this one turns out to be at least as good and that, unlike the unlucky 2010 one, eventually makes its way to the WE.

No casting announced for Bill or Sally which are the pivotal leads. It will do amazing business in Chichester. The show is well due for a revival and if it receives good reviews will almost certainly transfer to London I would think.

Miss Quentin is playing the Duchess I presume. She has a great voice, even if it isn't much if a singing part.
It's great to see both Joanna Riding and Gary Willmott together in Flowers For Mrs Harris. I'm pretty sure they played opposite each other in Me and My Girl!

Having seen Taron Egerton in a couple of plays before he started working on the big screen, I do confess to thinking it's a good job he *did* find his way to the screen because he's much better at it than he was in either of those plays. That said, neither of the roles he played were particularly good showcases, so I'd be very interested in seeing how much more impressive he is in a lead role.

We used to have a sun visor on the car window when I was little that had "The Sun Has Got His Hat On" on it, with a picture of a sun in a hat. Used to sing the song when we pulled it down, but had no idea it was an actual song rather than some sort of nursery rhyme... And I'm only familiar with "Lambeth Walk" from Davood's performance on Strictly.

It's great to see both Joanna Riding and Gary Willmott together in Flowers For Mrs Harris. I'm pretty sure they played opposite each other in Me and My Girl! The Duchess has a good solo and a duet in the second half, I seem to recall. Riding and Wilmot definitely starred together, I saw them and they were terrific. This is such a great show, hope the casting will be appropriate (not naff celebs), Evans I'm sure won't resort to this. I think (please correct me if I'm wrong) that Sun Has Got His Hat On was an existing song incorporated into the original show. Finally, if you go to the Victoria Palace for Hamilton, the staircase to the Grand Circle has masses of memorabilia on the walls relating to the original production and its star, Lupino Lane
