Just shadowed (an educational understudy) a show and had our only performances tonight. Now I've got the depression stage and can't shake the sadness away. Any thoughts or tips for how you get over post show depression

It happens all the time, and always hurts the most when you've particularly loved the show. It's okay to feel sad about the show ending, and it will pass in time. In the meantime, you can arrange hangouts with your former cast mates, take advantage of your newfound free time where you've previously had rehearsal to do (fun and/or relaxing) things Just For You, and start looking around for your next show.

This feeling is real, and it's powerful. I've had it last weeks and even months. So many people will know and understand exactly where you're coming from, so the first thing you need to do is remind yourself that this is a completely normal and understandable thing to be feeling, and nothing at all to be ashamed of. The second step is to be proud of everything you all achieved and happy that the show happened, but at the same time accept fully that it will never happen again.
As above, the best thing to do is to keep in touch with your castmates and arrange meetups. During a particularly powerful bout of it, I also found it really helped me to get back into my life outside of amdram and make time for the friendships and hobbies I'd neglected during rehearsal and show week (reminding myself there's life outside of the show). Then, again as Baemax said, full steam ahead into the next show!

(speaking as an audience member) If only it were just weeks or months - I still miss Memphis dearly.
