Not sure what all the negative fuss was about. I concur with the views which have been expressed about the heading: the minute you introduce opinion you introduce bias. I have watched plays which were utter rubbish (eg Common) but I would baulk at the idea of influencing people's opinion by tampering with the play's name in the thread title. This is not as damp as half the plays put on in London every year. In fact, it was rather more entertaining than other plays in this genre which were lionised eg Enron or The Power of Yes.
It is a fairly straightforward (perhaps simplistic) play about social responsibility and business and once you've got over a few bits of jargon (nothing like the jargon you got in Copenhagen of Heisenberg Principle) then it is eminently watchable with very good performances from all the cast and Hayley Attwell standing out.
Some are born to sweet delight......

When I said that leaving an incorrect and misleading title in place might lead to lots of comments, this is exactly what I meant - there are now more posts about this than about the play itself.
Of course people are entitled to post about any aspect but changing/correcting the title now might get us back on track, especially as this play has only recently opened and those who have seen it so far have expressed mixed views, ie. it's neither a write-off nor an unqualified success, so debate is likely to continue throughout its run.

I enjoyed this but wasn't blown away - so:

The 1hr 40mins zips along and I wasn't clock-watching.

I went to the Hampstead Theatre website to book a ticket for tomorrow night or next Friday night, not worried which, so was very shocked despite the tepid reviews and poor word of mouth on here the whole run is SOLD OUT, I wonder why? Is there anyone well known in the cast?
So now on that strength, I expect this to transfer to the West End, I wonder what is going into the Ambassador next?

Hampstead doesn't transfer all that much and if they didn't (yet) bring Gloria to the West End, another office based show which had far better reviews than this, I can't see Dry Powder going. But hey I could well be wrong! I am really hoping the Donmar transfers The York Realist to the Ambassadors or to Trafalgar Studios if The Grinning Man doesn't extend beyond 14th April.

Barely heard of Hayley Atwell, but wouldn’t have in a million years thought she would be a box office draw. Saying that although I love theatre, I would be the worst person to work in casting.

I too was surprised to see this some days ago and having seen the play, it's missable imo. But great business for Hampstead. I wish I had the courage to delay booking until the reviews are published but Hampstead productions continue to sound promising on paper and some get so booked up in advance that FOMO gets me every time.

I managed to snag a return yesterday.
Which I am glad I did as I found the acting to be solid, in a play I rather enjoyed, even though it’s about the heady subject of financial take overs, which I am not too familiar with, but I didn’t find this over pitching the subject and loved the two competing characters and frankly how low they stooped just to win their argument.

I booked because of Ms Atwell and Mr Riley. The play is a toothless Mamet wannabe. All the characters were assholes and at about the one hour point I almost shouted out : Fod God's sake why don't all of you just shut up! The play is slick but meaningless. The audience response was more than polite with one woman in the front row standing and cheering. The actors all avoided her gaze.
