I agree, but at the same time, and as much as I love the current cast, it will be nice to see a lot of new interpretations come in simultaneously.

Maybe Hayden Tee can play Javert in London now?

Maybe Hayden Tee can play Javert in London now? He's about to do Les Mis in Dubai so I'm not sure he'll be available to take over in the West End.

I caught the show today (26/10/2016 matinee), and the whole performance felt so tired. Have the sound levels been altered? I was sitting in the middle of the stalls and as soon as the overture started I noticed how quiet it sounded. Adam Bayjou was on as JVJ, and gave a bog standard performance, he really struggled during One Day More, though made up for it in Bring Him Home. Rachelle Ann Go's attempt at Fantine was unmemorable, and her diction left a lot to be desired. Chris Cowley was obviously ill, as his voice kept cracking in Act 1, though I thought his acting was strong. Eva Noblezada and Craig Mather carried the cast. How many more years can this production stand? I love Les Mis but the performance I saw today makes me agree with other the other forum members who say the show is dated. Having said all that, Act 2 was leaps stronger than Act 1, as evidenced by the lack of audience members checking phones and whispering, which is all they seemed to do during Act 1.

I saw it late May/early September and thought it was in top form and extremely gripping, and my last outing was around the 25th anniversary. Audience seemed so into it as well.

I thought it was sometime in December. Not sure when. December 3rd was suggested a few pages back, though there's been no official word as yet. Zoe & Craig have both said they are leaving the 3rd December. Others I don't know when but since they will have to rehearse new cast it would only make sense that everyone who is going would go then so new leads could all rehearse together. Thats my theory I also think they will announce tomorrow or Monday. Monday would be the start of four weeks before Dec 3rd which is the same time they announced casts for Feb & June cast change.

Just saw the 25th anniversary version in Dubai on Saturday. And now I'm more than ever a Nunn/Caird revolve Palace/Queens Theatre puritan. The new version is just too conventional, basic and unremarkable.
The cast is a weird hodgpodge of London casts, Australian cast and brand new members. John Owen Jones makes a much older, heaver, and slower Valjean than the already boring (but vocally glorious) Valjean I saw at the Barbican some years ago. Hayden Tee was off and a rather average Javert was on. I think I saw the third show in a less-than a month long run, and he was already out. Jodi Prenger was a serviceable Madam Thenadier, and Peter Polycarpou was just his usual self. Alasdair Brammer as Enjolras was fine but again, unremarkable. Patrice Tapoki just does not let go during I Dreamed a Dream, though the audience loved it. Strongest cast member I thought was Carrie Hope Fisher, whose voice was strong from the get go and had fierce energy all throughout.
Overall okay, though it felt a bit longer than the recent outing I had in London just in September. I think it has to do with the fact that the company did not develop a chemistry yet, given that they've rehearsed it separately, then glued it altogether about a week before the opening.
Not wow, but good to see big commercial musicals expanding into new regions. The Cats tour is stopping over in January, and there was an ad for Mary Poppins in May 2017.

Thanks for the review Ali. Just wondering if there is any news yet on the London cast change? I wonder if this cast will transfer into the West End?

I may be wrong, but what I discerned from Ali's post is that JOJ's current Valjean is a shadow of his former Valjean that was at the Barbican!

Thanks for the review Ali. Just wondering if there is any news yet on the London cast change? I wonder if this cast will transfer into the West End? I was told at stage door that cast announcement is tomorrow. Peter Zoe Craig Eva & Rachelle are def all going but Jeremy is around into the new year. Anything else no clue. I'm still REALLY wishing hoping praying Adam Bayjou gets to take over as JVJ.

Fingers crossed it is today then. While I like the current cast, I feel it is about time Les Mis has some fresh faces.

Gutted about Bayjey but it does mean I'll still get to see him in the show as cover. I haven't heard Simon Gleeson sing but please tell me he better than Peter.

I'm not impressed by his performance of Bring him Home on the BroadwayWorld.com clip I've just watched. Lots of flat notes. Adam would have been my choice too. Superb vocals and acting every time.
