Fabulous casting..The singing will surely be out of control, though I think they are slightly too mature for the roles especially considering the space. But yea, I'm excited about this now more than ever!

Oh god. I don't want this to be another Toxic Avenger miss out for me.
But tell me, is the story ever so dark/disturbing? I'm not very good with that.

Personally you're not missing much with The Toxic Avenger.... but you'd be a fool to miss this!
Is it dark and disturbing? No, maybe slightly disturbing in the way that the folks of the side show are treated, but its actually a very uplifing show.
The casting so far is fantastic, it makes me think it will sound more like the original broadway cast, belting to the rafters, rather than the slightly softer, lyrical revival cast.

I too am not sure about the piece but I booked yesterday as soon as I saw that Laura Pitt-Pulford has been cast, as she's one of my favourite actresses. I hope I won't find it too depressing or peculiar.

The show is actually not that "edgy" or dark at all. It's all about feeling like an outsider, getting comfortable in your own skin and accepting yourself with all your beauty and flaws. Blah Blah Blah, but with a couple of great power ballad duets throughout. There's also some gender, sexuality and race politics thrown in.
I've never seen it but was hooked on the OBC since the 90s.

If you'd seen it you probably would've called it edgy or dark. But you're not wrong in your second sentence.

I think the first number could be slightly creepy, but otherwise..I don't know if I can classify it as edgy or dark. I've seen videos of the OBC way back when and recently of the tryout in La Jolla..

I am probably going to be in a minority of one but I am not that impressed with Louise Dearman recently. She did a Friday Night is Music Night concert I was at and also the last John Wilson Orchestra concert and I was quite disappointed. Anyway still glad I booked for this when it went on sale.

Louise came into my school a couple of years ago to do a workshop with our children, ahead their "Sing Up" performance - and taught them Let It Go. I've never been in so much awe. Best day at work ever.
I haven't seen her in a production since, just as Glinda, two years previously, so I'm super excited for this!

She's actually fabulous. She's got a great soprano, and a mesmerizing belt where it has a slight huskiness to it that makes it very special. She's also quite funny, I saw her with Kerry Ellis in concert at the Prince Edward and she's quite a goofball. I think personality and voice-wise she'd be more suitable for the Emily Skinner character.

I have mixed feelings about her. Her singing was the best thing about the Water Babies at Leicester, but I didn't love her in Wicked. It's a fairly decent name for Southwark though. Laura Pitt-Pulford, however, I am very excited about. Ever since Parade I've loved her. Very much looking forward to this now the names have been announced, feeling smug for booking tickets so early!

Me too, I bought a ticket on the front row ages back, I've loved the cast recording for ages.

This seems to have gone very quiet. Knowing that the announcement for the Xanadu cast came out around this time last year makes me think that an announcement is imminent since SS is running at the same time Xanadu did. Who is everyone wanting for the three guys?
