Was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of West End Producer's hilarious second book, Everything You Wanted to Know About Going to the Theatre*, which is out sometime this week and thought I'd point out this board gets a mention or two! "incredibly knowledgeable and beautifully bitchy" Nice that our antics don't go unnoticed.
The book is a hoot - different to the first, but equally wicked, anecdotal, irreverent and funny. Recommended. Oh, and if you buy it from the publishers (Nick Hern Books), you get a free Theatre Prefect badge!

Someone came into the bookshop today looking for a Secret Santa gift, anyway after a bit of chatter it turned out I knew the recipient...who is now getting the West End Producer book whether they like it or not. (I may choose to reveal my hand in it after the fact) Anyway the chap buying it liked it so much he bought one for himself too.

^He does make public appearances but in deep disguise (or sends a friend if he's busy.)
My betting is that it's someone on here...
Personally I prefer Box Office Manager. I wish he wrote more frequently.

I went to the signing and Q and A this afternoon at the Theatre Cafe. Was brilliant and amazing to meet him. Lovely, charming and hilarious man. The temptation to rip off the mask was intense!
Surprised though that my friend and I were the only two people there for the Q and A and to get the book signed! Expected it to be mobbed but sadly not.

A spoiler alert for those reading the book.
But the little quotes on each of the chapters. There was one that I laughed hysterically at. The one that says about actors using sunblock because they don't want boys on the barricade looking like they should be in Mamma Mia. (Page 46)
It's funny last year one of the Les Mis swings - Danny, went on holiday to Bali for 2 weeks and got a proper tan. He turns up on the show clashing with Combeferre costume 😂

Maybe you'll be able to get it signed if he does another one soon! Some people do know who he is (obviously) but it's a very well kept secret. If anybody on the board does know, they won't tell you! Is he someone we'd know if his real name was dropped? I remember for April Fools' Day a couple of years back he was jokily revealed to be Bill Kenwright. Obviously that can't be true as WEP seems quite self aware and Bill evidently has none or he'd stop doing those god awful tours of trite that should have been put out of its misery years ago.
