Police saying that they are responding to reports of gun shots being heard - hence the significant response

No reports of any casualties so far - unlike the horrific events in Egypt today.

Tube stations now reopened. No evidence of any gun shots or suspects.
Hopefully that is the end of it

Most West End theatres went into lock down because of it. They all share a radio network to pass on info for incidents like this (along with traffic incidents etc). Thank God it was nothing serious.

Glad it wasn't anything serious!
The Royal Variety Performance was being filmed at the time, and the cast of 42nd Street were doing that before their own Show, and ended up getting caught up in the lockdown! They made it back to Drury Lane eventually and the show got under way an hour later than usual (half an hour later than planned as the start had been pushed back a while ago to allow for them getting back from the Palladium). The theatre gave us all a free drink while we waited!
