I loved Six and the costumes but how can it win best costume against Fly Davis, Caroline, or Change Toni-Leslie James, Paradise Square William Ivey Long, Diana, The Musical Santo Loquasto, The Music Man Gabriella Slade, Six: The Musical – WINNER! Paul Tazewell, MJ?

Paul Tazewell, MJ? I remember reading that there are lots of details such as Jane's bodice resembling Tudor housing, BOlyn and Howard having initial necklaces since they were beheaded, Parr wearing trousers as the most "modern" one, stuff like that. Perhaps they had a great detailed Tonys package. I can sort of see why they won as they are really fun and individually designed. TMM are really nice but nothing new or revolutionary, and Diana's were mostly recreations right? Can't comment much on the other ones but just some musings.

Perhaps you’re on to something Diana and MJ recreations and TMM man tried and tested design. I loved Caroline or Change and the innovation there. I also loved the Diana quick change reveals. I hated Jane Seymour oversized little mermaid seashells but overall loved Six design.

After calling the Vaudeville their “forever home” all the time for the past year, funny.

Is anyone going to the Hampton Court Palace show tomorrow? I’m interested to see if there’s any changes to the script.

Kenny Wax has been pretty loyal to Nica Burns and she to him, and they seem to work well together, so I'd be surprised if he / Six left Nimax. Although he is probably buoyed up by the Tony success for the show.

But can't see too many major changes. After being critical of them using the original cast for everything I a past post I grabbed a last minute ticket so I can see for myself what all the fuss is about the original Queens, I have seen 2 different casts so far so I have something to judge it on. I just have to remember to go in with an open mind!

Didn't (Doesn't) the Vaudeville have problems with accessabilty? It does I remember there being a lot of controversy around it

Might be an unpopular opinion on here but I think Six is massively over-rated.
My 14 year old loves it, and I’ve seen the show in the West End and on tour with various very talented casts. But I find the whole production a bit meh and a bit cringe. They must be raking it - really really short shows, super low budget set, no costume changes, tiny group of musicians. I always feel a bit short changed when I have paid for us to see the show.

It's clever and it's a lot of fun, but I'll be disappointed if it ends up hogging the Noel Coward for years.

I like it BECAUSE it’s short & punchy and I can do a 2 show day and still be back on the M4 for 9.30!

I always feel a bit short changed when I have paid for us to see the show. I kinda used to feel like that especially about how short it was but having seen it, what it lacks in minutes, it makes up for in effort - such a high energy show that I'm not even sure how they would go on for much longer than they do. I'm definitely not the target audience, but I was surprised how much I enjoyed it and immediately wanted to rebook !! Sure, they might well be raking it in but they will have to pay a large fee to the theatre with the absence of an interval (to compensate the bar) plus it's certainly not the highest priced ticket in town by a long way. I think part of the problem that stems from that is that it's not a traditional west end show as such and plays more like a pop concert, it's short and punchy without any filler tracks so everything hits !! (By the way I can certainly appreciate your point of view, I just wanted to come at it from a different angle I can definitely see how it could be cringey for some)

The fact that this won a Tony for the best score beating A Strange Loop was inexplicable to me. The score for Six,rather like the show itself , is entertaining to a point, but rather slight and quite derivative in my opinion. I don’t understand all the love for it really.

It’s the perfect musical for the social media obsessed youth with short attention spans.

A quick one about last night at Hampton Court Palace
On arriving it was like a comic book convention with the amount of people dressed up (as the queens) or in some sort of Six merch, they had a merch stall set out with some special edition Hampton Court stuff which seemed to be going down well with the fans.
Onto the gig itself as I said in a previous post I was keeping an open mind, I was sat in block d one of the side blocks but had a good side view of the stage despite the height, people in row a of all blocks couldn't see a thing and were trying to move throughout (think front row limited leg room theatre seat with a concert height stage). I am not going to lie it was like being at a Justin Bieber (or whoever the young teens are into these days) concert at times with the screaming from the fans! Most songs were clapped along with and people dancing along with full moves while remaining seated, which was a strange experience.
No changes to the show itself apart from the usual place name check change and there were a couple of references to the Palace in Richmond which I can't remember being used in the theatre production, and the cast not rushing to deliver the next lines so the one liners etc... worked so much better.
The sound was of course louder than the theatre and was so clear you could hear everything, lighting could have been better and at times the stage looked in darkness (it wasn't) and whichever one was singing the follow spot lost them at times.
Now in previous posts I have been critical about the production using the original cast for all these extra things and to be honest I don't see why they are put on such a pedestal, yes they were good but no different to other casts I have seen. The stand out for me was Natalie Paris, having never come across anything she has been in before she was very impressive. Aimie Atkinson was a little disappointing (and I shouldn't have read that post about her intake of breath before every line in the Pretty Woman Thread). As I said I was in one of the side blocks and I have to say they didn't make use of the massive stage they had, I found it a very narrow performance and no use of the wings of the stage in fact they never really acknowledged anyone to the sides and sang and did everything down the middle even the bows never made it outside of that small middle section.
It was an enjoyable night and if you have an extra few £'s to spare go tonight as you will have fun but to be honest for me at that price I would have preferred to have gone to the theatre 3 times (on Rush Tickets) to see it (or other things) instead of that. And lastly nothing I saw changed my mind on why these Original Queens are held up so highly by the fans!

I really will get around to listening to the soundtrack at some point, but... is the whole thing like that? No that is the only bit apart from a few Beyonce impressions and the 90's Rave track attempt which is better visually than as a piece, the rest of the songs are more like pop songs but Heart Of Stone is such a fantastic song right in the middle and would work as a stand alone release. It is a light hearted thing as opposed to serious theatre and if you listen or watch with the "its a bit of fun" mindset it is good fun
