Also the line "He doesn't like Madonna? he should be beaten with a VHS copy of Evita" is a classic!

I actually think Sean Hayes is almost walking away with this series.

I actually think Sean Hayes is almost walking away with this series. More like flouncing away, falling over *Jazz Hands* *Just Jack* But yes absolutely

Karen seems to have swallowed even more helium - I can't always understand her now. But the shower was an expensive and contrived but funny piece of slapstick.

I'm laughing at that comment because first time around when I used to watch it my father used to also say "I can't understand what she's saying!" Personally, I have no trouble understanding her. Interns of her voice changing from the earliest episodes, I actually saw a documentary somewhere where they referred to it as Karen finding her voice. And once she found it, I would argue that it hasn't fluctuated too much. In truth, the characters voice is not that much different from the actresses actual voice. There was a funny episode where Karen and Jack were breathing in helium from balloons and whilst Jack's voice goes high and shrill, Karen's remains exactly the same and Jack screams "That voice sounds ridiculous!".

I've seen her in other stuff where her voice doesn't sound like that, so you're saying she's changing her voice more for those roles?

No, I'm saying tht I have heard her in other roles and interviews and the voice is definitely there. It's (possibly) subdued somewhat and in he oles it's (again, possibly) exaggerated for the role of Karen, but it's defiantly there.

Agree, it's very much exaggerated but it's there in her normal voice too. You can hear it when she sings as well.

Yeah it was certainly 'there' in Young Frank when she was in it, and on her own recordings with her group. It's exaggerated but not totally 'fake' if that makes some kind of sense?
Anyway love me some Meg.

Having just watched episode 10 that aired in the states this week, this season is turning out to be decidedly average. Hate to say it as I truly loved the original seasons, but I think I've laughed about 5 times in 10 episodes 😔

Correct me if I'm wrong here but I can't remember the last time when an American sitcom was given another series years after it had ended with the original cast.
I means there always a one off special or a reunion show, but a whole series?
I know that Roseanne is currently filming another series. Sounds like this could be a new trend in LA.

Arrested Development was revived for a fourth series seven years after it had been cancelled.

(Pardon the pun here) but I think this episode had a lot of heart and nicely tied up the Grace and Leo storyline.

Netflix also revived Full House as Fuller House and while not a comedy, Gilmore Girls also was revived. Futurama was brought back by Comedy Central 4 years after it was axed due to strong DVD sales and syndication, Family Guy was brought back after being axed because it become huge in syndication and DVD sales although both those are animated.

Just watched last night's episode. Funniest yet for me. Sondheim reference with Grace trying to sing Greenfinch and linnet bird. And was the guy in the training camp from BOM?

I just watched it on catch up. Yep, funny for me too. Karen holding the mirror under Grace and the way Jack sat on the sofa. Yep. The guy in the training camp (Andrew Rannells- who incidentally is gay) is Elder Price from the original Broadway cast of The book of Mormon. The irony is the fact that he was up there with Jayne Lynch who is also gay. I also loved it when Jack realised that he was a grandfather and started hacking at the hedges.

I caught 5 mins of an episode while channel-surfing earlier and sadly found it really unfunny, so much so I couldn't bear to watch the rest of the episode.
Such a shame, as I loved the original series!

(Pardon the pun here) but I think this episode had a lot of heart and nicely tied up the Grace and Leo storyline. I agree- I really loved that episode. It had everything I have always loved about the show- the heart underneath it all, as well as the laughs. I really liked the Jack storyline as well- and the inclusion of Jayne Lynch and Andrew Rannells. That storyline also showed how the show does manage 'political' (small political in this case) with funny. A great serious point about acceptance etc but also damn funny.

Not strictly revival focused, but as Footloose was on TV earlier, it's time to re-live this classic Will&Grace moment....
