I feel like I must have been lucky as my experience was painless at 9.50am this morning on the DMT site. Twitter is awash with people angry at what a shambles it is!

Goodness, that was painless. Logged on and purchased in about the same time as it takes to shake a martini. Gillian must have known I wanted a ticket and had a few quiet words.

Logged on at 10:10 am, and got my ticket at 10:55. £25 Row A Grand Circle. Result!
Now I only have to do it all again tomorrow for "All My Sons"!

Relatively painless, and I got more or less what I wanted.
As a regular solo theatregoer, I despise box offices that do this:
I particularly despise them when they do it for shows - like this one - where they aren't going to have any difficulty selling a single seat in the dress circle at full price.

It's discrimination, that's what it is. There's no reason to do it. Scum. I hope they all have a really horrible Christmas. |

It was quickly quick and painless - logged on right at 10 - was at 700 hundred something but within 10 minutes was on and got similar seats to MaggieM above for a Friday night in February.

I had the nightmare experience of getting bumped out at payment & then getting in the queue again & then the timer ran out...I kept on it & now booked for February!!

Well this is not going well. The money's gone off my card, but I have no confirmation email and it's not appearing in my future bookings on the website either, and their phone line keeps hanging up on me! Hang in there if they have taken your money, lakeside . Should mean a confirmed booking. It isn't unusual to have to wait up to 24 hours to get email confirmation. When things have died down a bit in a few hours, also try going back to the site and checking your purchase history. For the record, I used IE first time, which crashed on me, and found Chrome better than Firefox on my second attempt. Thank you for the reassurance! I'm used to ticketing disasters but I've not had this happen before. Finally managed to get through on the phone and they told me it was reserved on the system for me, so I've got my confirmation email now hurrah! |

I had the same problem last night as a DMT+ member. I wanted a single £45 ticket for back of the royal circle. Because it wouldn’t let me leave a single seat, I ended up phoning DMT customer services and explaining I wanted that seat and not one of the restricted view seats at the same price. The DMT customer services lady ended up taking the other single seat off sale so I could purchase my seat. Thankfully, after about 10mins on the phone, all done and dusted. It shouldn’t be that difficult to purchase a single seat, but apparently it is. I asked if they are planning on changing this policy, they said not as they didn’t want to have lots of single seats all over the theatre. I’m sorry, I understand what she is saying and the reasons behind it, but I’m quite sure that there are plenty of other single theatre goers who would purchase that seat rather than leaving it unsold. A completely daft policy if you ask me. |

I ended up with what I wanted - £40 rather than £45 - by juggling dates, without phoning them up. I managed to find a preview performance where there was just one back row seat left on one side, presumably after somebody went through the same process you did. It's not exactly the date I was looking for, but it's doable, so I grabbed it. Fortunately the transaction went through smoothly. |

That was a mess!
Huge queues, timed out. Wouldn't allow me log in. Then didn't recognise address.
Could have booked on tODAY tIX EASILY FOR 10% Extra in fees but in the end Delfont rang me got front of the stalls for 65 pounds.
They could do hourly invites to mailing list to stop this.

I could too, and didn't - the Today Tix presale doesn't include any price point below £65 in the stalls or dress circle, even though there are £40/£45 seats available at full price from Delfont Mackintosh - albeit not many of them. (I assume there will be cheaper seats towards the back of the stalls as well, but they don't appear to be on sale today.)
Also, I'm less enthusiastic about using Today Tix to book for something several months in advance, because all sales are final. If I book with the theatre and later find I need to change the ticket - if I suddenly find that on the day I've booked for this I need to be in Cyprus or Botswana or Milton Keynes or (urp) Stockport - I should be able to work something out with the box office, or at least give them back the ticket for resale. That's useful when you live 200 miles from the theatre and you're picking a random date a few months in the future.

To pass the time waiting for the train back to London, decided to browse the website now things are quieter, came across a single Stalls Row C for a Friday late April.
Probably as good as I’m going to get so have taken the plunge.

They are pretty comparable for quality at the Noel Coward. Personally, I'd have gone D stalls for sure. The only real reason to sit in the Royal is if you are very short and feel you won't see over anybody in front, not even just 3 or 4 rows from the stage. Thanks I’ve went for stalls. Sometimes I just dream about having no One in front of me. Definitely agree with flow, so like a random lottery selection by the hour or something. Although, Even though I was last on Friedman mailing list I think it’s fair that the people the longest on the list get the first chance to book. |
