Hey,
I'll be in London between April 30 and May 3, 2018. My question is whether Ivo van Hove's All About Eve will have premiered by early 2018? So far, all the information I get is that it's scheduled to open in 2018. But this is quite vague. Does anybody have information on this?

I have no intelligence about this, just a psychic hunch - which is that it will open at the Noel Coward Theatre after Girl from the North Country closes (which is end of March).

Is this still happening? I've been waiting for tickets to go on sale for quite a while now.

I’m slightly concerned it’s not going to happen. Wasn’t it meant to be spring 2018? Seems strange to have no new info on it.. whether it be casting or a theatre etc.

I also have the sinking feeling this isn't going to happen. I was planning a trip to London around this production and it's very frustrating that I can't make any moves.

Unless it's going to follow Long Day's Journey into the Wyndhams in April 2018, I don't know if there is anywhere available for it to even go now. Since my Gielgud hunch didn't pan out and everything.

Red is going into Wyndham's after Long Day's Journey into Night.
The Noel Coward is free for 12 weeks between 24th March and 16th June unless Girl from the North Country extends.
Similarly the Gielgud is free between 19th May and the opening of Company on 26th September, unless The Ferryman extends again.
The Playhouse is free from 3rd Feb.
Trafalgar Studios is scheduled to be free from 17th Feb although It's unlikely to house All About Eve I would have thought.
The Phoenix is free from 10th March.
The Ambassadors is free 24th March.
The Duke of York's is free 31st March.
The Harold Pinter is free from 14th April.
The Apollo is scheduled to be free from 21st April, although Everybody's Talking about Jamie probably might extend.
The Haymarket is free from 5th May although Sonia Friedman never uses it.
So plenty of theatre availability on the face of it.

All About All About Eve is a paperback from some years back that intending readers here might find of interest.

I asked Baz about this a few weeks ago, and he said he 'couldn't share any information on it unfortunately.'
Take from that what you will..

Considering news is scant, and that I presume it's still happening, Gielgud looks possible from the end of May/beginning of June.

I paid SO little attention to the Red/Inishmore announcement, I thought they were both in the Coward. Not interested in seeing either of them, skimmed the article announcing them, haven't bothered to even look at the DMT website. Trafalgar/Apollo/Dukes/Ambassadors all too small a venue for it.

Two weeks at the Palladium it is, then Will it be one of those 'complete album' concerts that are currently all the rage. I find them rather pretentious myself.

Cate Blanchett is to chair the Cannes Film Festival jury so that is early-to-mid May booked for her (ends on 19th).

I wouldn't be surprised if it's been pushed back to the Autumn. With Cate doing Cannes then Ocean's 8 promo, a Spring debut for All About Eve was unlikely

She mentioned in an interview recently that it is no longer going ahead, due to this years work schedule and the fact she'd be spending no time with her family.

Sarandon would be great but she might risk becoming a Bette Davis tribute act.

A Belgian newspaper reported that All About Eve will be pushed back to Spring 2019 due to scheduling conflicts. Glad to hear that this is still happening.
