His Dark Materials is up there with my favourite books for all time. Can't wait to get the hardback tomorrow. I'm thrilled its received amazing reviews.

I've just finished reading this. Although I very carefully dragged it out, I still wish I'd dragged it out longer. Philip Pullman has a real gift for world-building. Still, at least it leaves me perfectly in the mood to reread the original trilogy while waiting for the next book, apparently titled The Secret Commonwealth.
