I imagine it'll run until Frozen is ready to come over in 2020 Frozen might not be a success. The film is wonderful but that doesn't mean the stage show will be. So much hype and it might not live up to it. Plus if it is successful and a hit I'm sure they will go for the Palladium, Dominum, Theatre Royal or if I was the producers throw it into the Hammersmith Apollo. It could run forever!

Frozen is rumoured to open at Broadway's St James Theatre, a 1700 seater. Closest to that would in fact be the Prince Edward at 1618. I, too, think that Frozen would rather choose a mid sized theatre over the likes of the Apollo Victoria, Dominion, Palladium of Theatre Royal to create more demand and higher ticket prices - just like Book of Mormon.

I think it's a given that Frozen will be a huge whopping great hit, unless they mess it up. Which is highly unlikely I'd say

I think it's a given that Frozen will be a huge whopping great hit, unless they mess it up. Which is highly unlikely I'd say Well in my opinion Aladdin was a flop. An amazing film, gorgeous music and the stage show comes nowhere close. No one out of the ten people who I went with this week came out and said it was great. It's not. We all stood there on Old Compton Street and said "well apart from Friend like Me it was just ok". It's average at best with a disappointing set, a strange arrangement of A Whole New World and old fashioned front cloth scenes with the two baddies, some acting and singing bordering on all bad! I give it 5/10

Frozen is bullet proof, with a much loved songs from the movie.
I agree that Aladdin doesn't have investors and can afford to go alone, they can put £15m in a show and reap the dividends, but if it tanks they can deal with the loses. They don't need people to put in a thousand here and a couple of thousand there. This isn't Bend it Like Beckham, where they need to spread the risk, which in the ndo was a very wise move by Sonia Friedman.

what about important things, like who was too camp? Did the theatre smell?? The Prince Edward has a very cramped front of house but I think we can all agree that the auditorium is beautiful. It's always a treat to visit unlike certain fringe theatres under arches or pub theatres with sticky floors. There were also no over camp performers in Aladdin I agree, the ensemble were very good, I did notice that they were all mostly the same height! I also don't see how Frozen is bullet proof. There is a fine line between a flop and a hit - look at Love Never Dies, i disliked it in the West End and loved the Australian production. If they don't get the snowman right, it could well not be a massive success and miss the mark. I hope I'm wrong!

I know it was surely an autocorrect thing, but I'm definitely going to start using the phrase 'ballet proof.'

Unless it's so crap that the majority of people actually demand their money back or tear the theatre down in anger it'll be a hit.

I hear that Disney are putting in stringent measures that any FOH staff can eject audience members who burst into a pirouette or arabesque during the interval, or indeed throughout the performance.

I hear whispers from the management that expectations for Aladdin are similar to those for Charlie & the Chocolate Factory (once it opened of course, not before when it was projected as running 10 years at Drury Lane). Frozen won't be allowed to come here by the ballet mafia until Aladdin finishes its run. Disney believe 2 shows in London is the limit.

What hat are you pulling these corkers out from? Who on earth projected ANY show could/would run at Drury lane for 10 years anymore? Those days are over. Plus if Aladdin is still running and profitable and they want to bring Frozen over, then they will. Since we're being insulting, learn your history, sonny.
Firstly, I referred specifically to the expectation by some Warner executives were talking about out-lasting Miss Saigon when the project started- I made it clear that they revised their expectations considerably once the reviews came in (if not before).
Secondly, look at the way Beauty & the Beast, which was still turning a profit was pulled to pave the way for The Lion King.
The Little Mermaid and Aida were not brought across because Disney has a very clear view of how to manage its London properties. Aladdin has confirmed their suspicions about the volume of traffic they can direct to their West End shows.

Such a shame Aida never came. It's a great show. Saw it three times. Why don't you raise the capital for a WE staging? The last Disney exec I spoke to about it said the figures didn't work out. Basically it's too expensive to run in the West End. Or not enough profit anyway.
