Wow. I don’t have enough words to say how amazing tonight was. I have seen and adored The Play that Goes Wrong, Peter Pan Goes Wrong, Comedy about a Bank Robbery and their TV projects. I have Groan Ups in the diary too (fingers tightly crossed that the new date happens). I think part of it was the joy of just getting to a live performance (though this is my third after JCS and Sleepless) but this was on another level. The improvisation and teamwork were truly awesome. Our story was Coffee in Cairo, a spy thriller with elements of slapstick, musicals and Costco.
I don’t envy the questions to parents from girls who looked about 6 and 7 about bad hand actions (I forget the exact line but self love or someone else performing that act was heavily hinted at many times!!!)

I don’t envy the questions to parents from girls who looked about 6 and 7 about bad hand actions (I forget the exact line but self love or someone else performing that act was heavily hinted at many times!!!) I am frequently baffled by parents' complete ignoring of age guidelines for various shows including the Mischief ones. MMN is advertised as 12+ & it gets somewhat rude/sexually suggestive on a not infrequent basis, as indeed quite a lot of improv is apt to do. If you want to take your 6 year old to see improv take them to the Showstoppers' kids show, not to improv shows aimed at adults.

How much variation across a run is there?
As so little on at the moment if I went to see it a few times across the run would there be much changes or would it be the luck of the draw?

I was supposed to see magic goes wrong on 22/01. I see there is a 5pm and an 8pm mischief movie night, tempted to do both!

How much variation across a run is there? As so little on at the moment if I went to see it a few times across the run would there be much changes or would it be the luck of the draw? It's improv so every show is different. I've seen 56 performances since 2014 & they've all been different. Whether or not the cast will rotate is not yet clear, as they only seem to have announced about half the cast, but they have during previous runs.

Thanks Dawnstar , have booked one of cheap first week performances so far to get a feel of what to expect and considering the double header on New Years Eve. From only having seen Groan Ups will now see two Mischief shows on the weekend of the 11th Dec as will be seeing The Play That Goes Wrong for the first time the same weekend. Here’s to hoping London remains Tier 2 and hope it is not too long into the New Year before you feel comfortable making the trip into London again.

I'd love to see this, but am waiting until the tiers get announced.

Thanks but unless the rates fall massively very soon, which doesn't look likely with the Christmas household mixing just announced, I think it's highly unlikely I'll feel it's safe to visit London until the vaccine roll-out has happened & that will be far too late for this MMN run.

With apologies to Dawnstar, all tickets, in all areas, are just £20 for the opening week. Quite a saving from upto £33.

Interesting. By my maths, that's 32% over three years, Dawnstar. Very different landscape now, of course, so completely understandable.

TallPaul Actually thinking about it the Regent's Park performances at the end of August were £25 - not sure about the rest of that tour - so that's pretty rapid inflation!

A very funny performace of I Left My Heart On Mars tonight, with strong thighed Dr Uranus stuck on Earth with half of his wife's heart, while his wife, who had left Earth with his one-year old children 30 years ago (children now both 15) was stuck on Mars with an evil Mahjong loving boyfriend and only half a heart. Mahjong in this universe is not the Chinese tile matching game, but something more like Mornington Crescent where players get rubbed down with butter. Plus, Henry Lewis as a martian who couldn't speak English and could only communicate through squeals.
All very silly, all ended happily at the end and all with a full (but socially distanced) audience who loved it.
I thought I'd booked front row, but I was in the second row. Never mind, the view was excellent. The theatre has a nice low stage.
70 minutes of welcome entertainment, two musicians, Oscar and a cast of seven (including some members I didn't recognise). If London doesn't move into Tier 3 shortly, I'll be back for more.

Most Excellent.
A festive treat, Deck the Halls with Parts of Molly. The less said about erotic John the elf the better.
Will definitely look to catch a few more over the next few weeks,

That was awesome!!! Amish-geddon - a Wild West Murder mystery set on an Amish commune.
It was a riot. I have no idea how they do it. I hope to get at least another date of the run in (replacing magic goes wrong in January is the most likely). I wish they had a deal for the 5pm and 8pm on the Friday as it will add up buying 2 tickets!

Nipped to see closing night thanks to a ticket deal I got earlier in the week. A Christmas themed film that made no sense at all, but was incredibly funny and overran.
We saw a A Sticky Situation, sat in the magical store of Candyland, which has stood in Croydon for 300 years run by the imposing My Gumdrop, who hates to charge customers, could magically disappear and would fall into the song anytime (making sure to observe the daily minute spent squatting and the other daily minute spent Bollywood dancing). But with Christmas Eve approaching, one of the workers had a problem with thrush, lived in a candy house with her extra slow moving friend and needed love. Could the lover possibly be the man who two Wild West sounding Financial Board members, prone to shooting a few staff to reduce costs, have sent to save the company? And would Mr Gumdrop end up naked on the mean streets of Croydon stripped of his marzipan underwear, or would a new candy treat powered by orgasms save Christmas?
A full standing ovation at the end and a heartfelt speech. Such a good way to end the year.

Great fun.
Sticky Situations, a Christmas love story set in Candyland sweet shop Croydon, the secret ingredient of the the confectionery that saves them all will remain a well kept secret.
Will definitely be seeing many more whenever the opportunity arises again.

Apologies if this has already been covered.
I have signed up to view this show on New Year's Eve.
Can anyone tell me how I can view it on my TV rather than a laptop

Apologies if this has already been covered. I have signed up to view this show on New Year's Eve. Can anyone tell me how I can view it on my TV rather than a laptop Easiest is going to be to connect your laptop to TV via a HDMI cable (instead of your Sky/console/VM etc), then have the video in full screen on your laptop, which will also duplicate onto your TV. You might need to use Ctrl + Windows + P to select "duplicate" to make this work (or "Second screen only").

Did anyone else go to the first livestream? What did you think? A few teething troubles, I did struggle to see the point in paying an extra five pounds for the participation ticket only to be muted through the whole show.

I was there just as a viewer, and this was my first viewing of a Mischief Movie Night - and I loved it. My highlights were Henry Shields rapping about making love to a broom, Henry Lewis as Toxic Joe and a sloth, and Harry Kershaw speaking in alien language. I thought the whole idea was so good, and I cannot believe how good at improvising they are. Really looking forward to the rest of the shows.

I don't know if it was just my internet connection, but I did have a fair few buffering issues tonight. Despite the IT issues, I really enjoyed what the MT crew put together (Henry Lewis was just great as a sloth!). It was my first time watching a MT Movie Night and from tonight's show and I'll definitely do another one (probably the NYE show).

The stream glitched briefly a handful of times but other than that it was okay for me technically. I could have done without the Zoom participation element altogther - Showstopper manages their audience suggestions with just tweets - but then the audience suggestions bit at the start is always my least favourite part of improv shows. The end credits must have been a bit confusing for people who don't know all the cast by sight as they credited everyone who was due to be in the WE run - plus Ellie Morris who's currently in TPTGW - rather than just those who were in tonight's performance. It'll be interesting to see if they rotate cast members for the other 5 livestreams.

I’ve seen their other West End shows and the TV series but never one of the Movie Nights, so I am glad they’re streaming them. Really enjoyed this tonight. The audience suggestions bit was kind of awkward but it’s going to be given the circumstances. No problems with the stream at my end though. I was nearly crying at the bit with the sloth and Henry Shields line after filling the hole. Will definitely have to watch another.

I have to say I did like how Jonathan Sayer's interjections forced the scenes in different directions. I don't know if the compare role will be alternated. And yeah the Zoom sections were a bit awkward, especially when asked to come up with something on the spot. Otherwise it was a great show, I especially enjoyed Lauren Shearing and Henry Lewis' scenes.

I have to say I did like how Jonathan Sayer's interjections forced the scenes in different directions. I don't know if the compare role will be alternated. Henry Lewis occasionally played Oscar back when they did the show at the Arts in 2017/18, mostly for one show on 3-show days. I gather from interviews that when they used to do the show at the Edinburgh Fringe each year there was more variety in Oscars with Dave Hearn & Harry Kershaw doing it as well as Henry Lewis. So it's possible there could be another Oscar, however with there only being 6 shows online I'm going to make a guess that it's most likely that it will be Jonathan Sayer Oscaring all of them.

Absolutely loved tonight's Vampire Romance movie. Complete chaos with cast forgetting who they are meant to be playing just added to the fun. I'm convinced that Henry Lewis is Brian Blessed in disguise with that big booming voice. Tonight's best line came from Lizzie (on-line) about dead people going to Blackpool. Having been to Blackpool a number of times, I'd certainly agree with her!
