Yes, given how bonkers the 8pm show was I was expecting this to be even more anarchic but, apart from Henry L's trigger-happy scene, it wasn't. I was glad Oscar put his foot down & insisted the movie was fully resolved before it ended. We've already got the forever-unresolved Croydonosaurus without having another ambiguously-ending movie.

My heart sank at the pre-school part of the chosen suggestion, as I find the 6 year olds in Groan Ups more annoying than amusing, but fortunately there were only 2 child characters, & they acted more like 10 year olds than pre-schoolers, so it turned out better than I expected.

I definitely preferred yesterday’s Trilogy day story both for the humour and the actual story. Tonight’s film really didn’t do much for me plot wise. 

Dawnstar, I wished they had finished on the Triology day. For me it had everything I wanted to see in a MMN. A fun story with more adult humor and everyone completely losing it. A long day yesterday.but worth it. I admire anyone in the studio audience who did all 3 shows yesterday as well as all the cast. That takes some stamina to do that.

I attended Saturday night's late show and had a great time, immensely improved by quickly reading the comments here about the earlier parts of the Trilogy, as it gave me an inkling what was going on lol! I was one of only 5 attendees who hadn't been there for the earlier shows.

Though, as regards the plot, the big takeaway, for me, was that Andrew Garfield was the apex of everything. The key point was that his acting was simply TOO good, something I had initially been dazzled by when I saw his Prior Walter at the National, but now became distraught by in the realisation that his talent could end the world. I mean, his ability to play a pigeon was so naturalistic that he could actually fly, but more tragically, his impersonation of Lawrence Dallaglio's Dad led Dallaglio into the mistaken belief he was unloved, which resulted in Dallaglio turning evil and starting the AShopocalypse.

So, while I cooled on Garfield, I really warmed to the chap playing him, who cooed like a real pigeon and had immediate hilarious improvisations to every plot twist, and indeed, himself constructed key elements of the plot. And it was wonderful to see the Henrys, Lewis and Shields, Jonathan Sayers and Dave Hearn all doing what they do so well, as well as seeing other troupe members all so wonderfully talented!

Reading the summary of Episode 2, above, I'm sorry I missed it, as nothing makes me laugh more than Henry Lewis in a booming frenzy breaking everything in proverbial China shops!

It was lovely to see how the team prepare in advance of the internet broadcast by freely and loosely bouncing all sorts of weird and wonderful ideas of each other to warm each other up into an improvisational frenzy. The team are such a trusting, fun and friendly "family" unit that it struck me how much happier real families would be if the first thing every morning every family member just bounced crazy ideas off each other until everyone was laughing lol.

Anyway, for me, a perfect end to a long day in London! 4 stars.

I booked because I was already in London for a double bill of "Bach and Sons" and "Bagdad Cafe," so it was the culmination of my own little trilogy, and it really made the day lol.

Frankly, if Henry Lewis had made a cameo as Bach's third son, or if Jonathan Sayer had narrated it, that show might have got that little extra lift it needed. 😁

Mischief will have a large presence at the Edinburgh Fringe, as Charlie Russell and Henry Lewis are taking up solo shows, while there is also a run of Mischief Movie Night:

I get your point though, maybe that's why they're doing the other shows too?
On the other hand, the Showstoppers are going to be there, and they've been doing the "same" show even longer than Mischief!

Excited to see this - have loved almost all other Mischief productions

I do wish Edinburgh wasn't so far away & so impossibly expensive to visit in August. They don't even seem to be doing a date at Regent's Park, which I hoped they would after doing the last 2 years.
