Well it’s nice they fired her from the show yet still support her.
Maybe she just couldn’t act the role of Effie.
She’s still very talented so I am pleased.

I agree. It’s hard to imagine that it’s not some sort of peace offering, or consolation prize by SF but so what. She wouldn’t be doing it if she didn’t think Ruth had the talent so good luck to them with it.

I just watched a few youtube videos of Ruth and quickly noticed she has so many bad, so many bad, so many bad, so many bad, so many bad habits (Hopefully someone gets that terrible joke after watching the video below). Girl has also got some pretty serious timing issues. It is a shame that she riffs so much, because when she strips it back her voice is actually gorgeous.

Watching this clip it is frankly no wonder Ruth did not go on in Dreamgirls.

You never know..she might go on soon. Amber is leaving soon, and if marsh replaces they will need another alternate.

It’s like an X Factor audition every time isn’t it. Like “this is what I can do and I’m going to show it all to you in the next three minutes”. She needs to learn that less is more. Unless the riffing is there to cover up mistakes/tuning problems. Like “I can’t hold this note so let’s wobble it about a bit”. |

I think they'll probably do away with having two alternates at the end of this contract, it's really not needed. It's great to have 3 amazing women available to see as Effie but it's probably better to just have one alternate and two understudies in the cast, at least they have something to do then if they don't get to go on much like poor Karen. |

Why is this in the Musicals section when she has never even performed on a musical stage?
If Kristin Chenoweth's concert can't be put here, I don't see why Ruth's has any place on this section to be honest.

And much as I love the other girls in the Leading Ladies tour, they shouldn't be in this section either. Though at least they have some relevance to theatre as they have lead in several high profile musicals each, respectively!
