How exciting! A Broadway debut for Denise? Russell isnt listed on the website, is he not doing it we assume?

Certainly a Broadway debute for James McArdle!  V happy for him and that the entire cast is so commited (shame Tovey couldn't make it, hoping whoever filling his shoes will do justice to this part) Denise is also doing PP&T beforehand or is it off-Brodway? Exciting times on the other side of the pond! So many British productions are transferring this/next year. Me and my friend were discussing it just the other day in terms of who's up for Tonies 2018 - Fatinelli, HP, Travesties, PP&T again.. Now it seems none of them have many chances against Angels.. )) |

I'm so pleased for McArdle, because well don't tell anyone but he's my favourite  and Denise (who yes will be pretty much hopping over from St Ann's Warehouse to this). I'm also really happy they're taking everyone who wanted to/could go. From a nerdy point of view I'm really intrigued to see the comments the press and the public make- it's really not an 'American' version of the play, and that's going to be really interesting to see the reaction. Anyway that's all months away, for the minute I'm just super pleased and proud that 'my boys (and girls)' are heading to Broadway and that I can FINALLY talk about it. |

I wouldn't stress about the Amex presale. There will likely be only a limited selection on sale. From past experience, I rarely find tickets I want during them and do better during the regular onsale. That said, I will probably check it out tomorrow -- even though I'm not sure I actually want tickets! The experience at the National was so sublime that I fear Broadway can only come up short. The Neil Simon is much smaller than the Lyttelton, so there are bound to be compromises to the staging. And there will also be no Mr. Tovey.  I'd also need to put together a week's worth of theatre-going to make it worth my while and, right now, I'm having a hard time doing that. But, we shall see.... |

kenneth_C Yes, I know they only put a limited amount on sale- my plan also is to see what's available tomorrow and get a sense of prices/locations etc and if things work out for the dates I'd potentially go, all well and good if not, I'll wait for the main sale. I know what you mean about it never quite measuring up to the previous experience (though I'm not that upset about losing Tovey as I would other cast members and we may get someone even better!). But it's also providing a good enough reason to go to New York so I can't complain too much!

Re: Amex Presale Well, I checked out a half dozen Two-Show days in May -- and was offered the exact same ticket for each one. Orchestra Row O, Seat 111, for $318. If I threw that one back and searched again, I was offered Orchestra Row T. So definitely not much in the way of selection. Will check again in the coming weeks, although right now I am definitely leaning more to the "not going" side. I know what you mean about it never quite measuring up to the previous experience (though I'm not that upset about losing Tovey as I would other cast members and we may get someone even better!). But it's also providing a good enough reason to go to New York so I can't complain too much! I'm heading to NYC in a few weeks -- somewhat unexpectedly, but I got Springsteen tickets for my birthday. (I gave them to myself, but still...) It will be my 3rd trip this year, which is 2 more than I normally do.  And "even better than Mr. Tovey"?!? Bite your tongue! But I know you are a huge James McArdle fan, so we will just have to agree to disagree. |

Well I've seen a Roy sing 'I am what I am' so why not Waterloo? seriously I've often wondered what it would be like to see it in another language as I know every word. Somewhat useless gossip, they have held Joe auditions now. I do not know who got it. In fact someone who was IN the room asked me if I knew who got it...so I think we can assume it's still a fairly closely guarded secret! |

Oooh interesting. Lee Pace is delicious. His eyebrows make me weak at the knees. I wonder if his appearance in this play will only reignite all those Lee Pace/Richard Armitage rumours again?
