Delighted about Laura Pitt Pulford but have to say I am a bit disappointed at the choice for Barnum. Really did not like his Ali Hakim at the Proms.

Should I know who he is? Because this hasn't made me want to book...

I liked him in 'Spamalot' - but nothing about his performance in 'Spamalot' suggested he'd be appropriate casting for 'Barnum'... or indeed for any role requiring actual acting. He's a funny comedian, but 'Barnum' needs a brash, in-your-face showman.

Gordon Greenberg has to ok Marcus for the part so obviously they think he can do it. I will hope for the best and go in with an open mind...

Celinde Schoenmaker playing Jenny Lind. Tupele Dorgu and Harry Francis also in it.

Schoenmaker may well steal the show - the best Christine I have ever seen. Brigstocke on the other hand seems totally wrong, though not as wrong for this as he was for Ali Hakim (!!) at the proms.

Don't like the look of the set. Too modern.

Oh dear! That's a big challenge for him, the tightrope is the least of his problems if his Oklahoma performance is anything to go by!

Oh well, that's £50 odd quid more I have to spend on Christmas presents. Not a fan of his really and he was just OK in Oklahoma. Plus isn't he a bit tall to walk on a tightrope at the Menier considering the ceiling isn't that high there. He will end up being about 6" off the floor I will probably be proved wrong now and he will give an award winning performance

I'm remaining open-minded. Remember Michael Crawford went from comedy into Barnum. Jim Dale too (although he was a pop star first etc.)

Brigstocke is very out of left field, but tbh I'm so delighted it's NOT a Strallen as Charity that I might just book a ticket regardless.

Was waiting for the cast announcement before booking, as it's not really my favourite show anyway, but after the cast announced will not be booking.

Delighted to see Laura Pitt-Pulford, though not entirely sure about him. Still, I'm seeing it pretty late in the run, plenty of time for everyone to get the hang of it.
