I am hoping for Hamilton as I have taken a bold gamble and refuse to pay the $100.000 - for a ticket that is in the back of the balcony, for that price I want to be at least in the stalls, to see the 'show'.

I think it is just coming to the end of it's run on Broadway and so is ripe for a transfer to the West End because I have heard great things about Ivo Van Hove's A View From a Bridge

I'm here to express not a wish for Hamilton to transfer, as I'm sure it shall, but a wish for the Broadway cast to come over for at least the first three months, as there are many more talented cast members than Lin-Manuel Miranda, and I feel a bit sad when I think about people who aren't ever going to get to see them in their roles. It would be nice to have even a limited opportunity for the UK. Yes indeed. Would love another chance to see Daveed Diggs, Leslie Odom Jr, Jonathan Groff and all the Schuyler sisters. |

I've grown a little bit addicted to the Hedwig soundtrack lately so I wouldn't mind seeing that over here (which I think is the plan isn't it?). I wonder though if it would be better off as a tour that went to the Hammersmith Apollo instead, like the 1st American Idiot tour did?
It probably wouldn't happen as it's the Roundabout Theatre but I would have also loved to have seen Cabaret with Alan Cumming and Emma Stone.

Going to be a bit left field here and stick my neck out for The Last Ship and Tarzan(with the European improvements)to come over.
Next to Normal obviously this hasn't been taken up by a West End house, but this musical has a lot of credibility in theatrical circles and would think in would be done on the fringe or regional like the Curve or Royal Exchange. However it wouldn't make a pleasant Christmas musical.
Alos musicals like Everyday Rapture and Story of my Life should have come over, easily done with just 1 or 2 people in the whole cast.

I haven't seen it, but imagine if Newsies ever came over it would probably be a limited run, or part of some sort of international tour. I can't imagine there's enough demand for a long open-ended run.

Yeah, whatever happened with Newsies, anyway? Couldn't they basically cast the whole show with former Billy Elliots? I guess they just couldn't get the right theatre. From what I remember from the old board, someone posted that they were having auditions and the producers were amazed by the amount of dancing skills in the West End, so it's definitely not a casting issue. |

Vienna is always worth a visit: www.next-to-normal.at/next-to-nromal.de/N2N-Wien.html  However, it'll be done in German and I couldn't find out whether or not there will be English subtitles. Seems to be the same production I saw in Fürth in 2013 though. |

Next to Normal was okay, but after seeing it once (on Broadway) I never felt the desire to see it again. I'd expect it to turn up on the fringe sometime, sounds like something Southwark could do. Same for Fun Home. Was seriously bored by this in New York. The original graphic novel by Alison Bechdel is marvellous, very touching and funny at the same time and I adore it. But imho the musical added nothing to it really, I wished I had stayed at home on the couch and re-read the book instead of spending $75 on the show to see scenes "acted out on stage". |

IIRC, it's a rights issue. Someone owns the professional UK rights for N2N and doesn't want to release them. Maybe that person is still hoping for a West End production? |

N2N I would prefer in the fringe as I don't think it would do well in the WE.
Also if Ben Whishaw feels like coming back here with The Crucible after Broadway I wouldn't object. I don't even like the play that much but I do like him that much.

Hmm, well, I could see it do half a year (with possible extension) in one of the smaller theatres like the Playhouse or the Vaudeville. Would be nice to have a bigger name attached to Diana and give newcomers a chance to shine as the kids. Wonder if Sarah Lancashire would be willing to do a musical again? I loved her in Betty Blue Eyes and am pleased to see her do so well with Happy Valley now.

That was exactly my thought "I should want to see what the fuss is about" - was glad I only spent $75 on the cheap seats (and bought the ticket before the Tonys, after which they hiked the prices for those to +$100) and came out thinking "well, that was much ado about nothing". I've come to the conclusion that Broadway ADORES "edgy little shows" - when you look at the Tony Winners in recent years, it's those shows that usually come out best - Spring Awakening, Once, Fun Home, Next to Normal, etc. Now I don't mind "edgy" or "different" per se, but generally I've found that those shows Broadway adores are not for me. Maybe I'm shallow, but I deal with real life problems every day, hear stories from friends, don't mind edgy contemporary TV dramas, the odd edgy modern play and so on, but when I pay a lot of money for a musical, I rather want entertainment and not even more problems and woes. Mind you, Spring Awakening has some gorgeous songs, but the weird staging of the original version and the extremely overblown plot by Wedekind's original just didn't do for me. |

Oh I agree! While sometimes a dark/edgy/important work is great, so is something with a bit of flash! I felt bad for loving Neverland so much, as many seemed to disregard it. But you know what sometimes I want a bloody good Gary Barlow song, some dancing pirates and glitter |

Fun Home is one of my favorite shows, but admittedly it does work on a sort of "slow burn." I've seen it twice and I love it, but it's very intimate and quiet and needs a certain kind of venue and an audience who knows what it's getting into. If not the intricacies of the plot, then at least knowing that this is a rather understated show.

Everyone who's rooting for Finding Neverland on here, the producers today reaffirmed their intention to bring the show over in 2017, heavens knows why, they expect the London critics to love more than Leicester, after the New York critics mauled it? One saving grace of the show is a jaw dropping scene at the end. Everything wants to come over in 2017, I don't expect Neverland to beat Hamilton to land a theatre. Neither do I expect both The Girls and Neverland to play the West End.
Never happen, but I would love to see The Pirate Queen play the West End.
