She also happens to be pregnant. So so awful. I cannot imagine how hard it is to get over a tragedy like this, all while pregnant.

The driver was just not even kept or tested for drunk driving or anything. She was just let go. Wow.

That is one of the most awful things I've heard. Cannot even comprehend it.

This is just so awful, there are just no words, those poor families, and for what? Getting somewhere two minutes earlier, how senseless. The driver was just not even kept or tested for drunk driving or anything. She was just let go. Wow. How is this even possible? She's taken two children's lives with her actions, I just can't understand this.

I'm still trying to comprehend what kind of pain the two mothers and their families are in. I'm also trying to comprehend the rather lax and friendly treatment the driver has been receiving.

This is so awful.
It is vile that after 4 seperate incidents of going through red lights, now that she killed 2 children the driver can still be let go until further notice.
Do we think this will mean that she will pull out from the the London transfer, really wouldnt be blame her if she does.

There really aren't words for this. I will just repeat what Kristen wrote:

www.silive.com/news/2018/03/test_data_embed.html#incart_2box_silive-homepage-featuredNew York City public records show 12 "open parking and camera violations" issued to the license plate of the same vehicle driven by Dorothy Bruns when it was involved in a crash that left two children dead in Brooklyn Monday.
Bruns, 44, has been identified by law enforcement sources as the driver of a white Volvo sedan that struck and killed a 1-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl in Park Slope. Public records indicate Bruns is a Rosebank resident.

Ruthie and Lauren are going through the most unspeakably awful time at the moment and although raising money won't in any way soften the terrible losses they have experienced, it will at least mean they can have the time needed to grieve without having to worry financially. Ruthie's GoFundMe has reached $188,000 and Lauren's $61,000, which is a testament to the power of the theatre community.
UPDATE from Ruthie's GoFundMe: "Ruthie is no longer in critical condition, and is on the road to physical recovery. Also, thankfully, her unborn child is unharmed."

Do we think this will mean that she will pull out from the the London transfer, really wouldnt be blame her if she does. I really don’t know and TBH it doesn’t matter. These lives of these two women (and their families) are now changed forever. Perhaps she can find solace in work/performing be it domestically or overseas. We don’t know anything about her financial situation and obligations-sometimes you need to go back to work no matter what the circumstances are. We forget that acting is a livelihood and not just a passion for her and her peers. Whatever her decision is, I’m sure work and career is the last thing on her mind right now. I love many things about the US but at times it’s still the wild Wild West. Guns that could be bought at supermarkets.. zero action taken against obvious violators and offenders. Western People Funny indeed.

The driver should go to jail for a very long time. She has a history of running red lights. She said she had a seizure and blacked out. Why should someone with a history of seizures be allowed to drive?

This is so so sad. My thoughts are with both families. I can't imagine what it must be like to loose a child in such a sudden and horrible way.

Why should someone with a history of seizures be allowed to drive? It's ridiculous, even if she had this, if she knew she did and continued to drive, she's still legally responsible. I have a condition where I lose consciousness, standing up, sitting down, whatever, and I'm not allowed to drive, so I don't. It so angers me when people put other people's lives at risk for their own pleasure/convenience. Something seems off here, as if she has some sort of connections or something for her to be walking away without any responsibility.

This is just the most dreadful news. Such a horrific accident, but that it also took the lives of 2 so young is beyond heartbreaking. My heart aches for these mothers and their families.
