Personally, I'm there! I LOVE ABBA. I am from Australia. Fact. No other country in the world took to ABBA like Australia. So much so, that (at the time) ABBA flew the 56 hours required from Sweden to get to Australia. They also filmed ABBA-The Movie* in Australia www.whatsonstage.com/london-theatre/news/mamma-mia-the-party-abba-waterloo-bjorn-ulvaeus_43743.html?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=01jun2017For those of you who've not seen it, or unfamiliar with the story, it follows the trails of an Australian radio journalist who is desperately trying to get an interview with the fab four, amongst the hysteria (and I mean hysteria- although I was quite young, I still remember ABBA mania (my sister has a pair of ABBA socks seen in the film) and the hysteria is still something that Agneta refers to in interviews to this date) but is always one step behind them. * Incidentally the actor- Robert Hughes- playing the hapless reporter has recently been convicted of sexual molestation of one of his child co-stars of a TV sitcom that he later starred in and jailed, but thats a whole other story. Google it.

I know it’s way too expensive to consider this sadly 🙁

Has anyone seen the prices for this at the O2?... wow... Premium £195: Best seats. Band A £155: Excellent seats, in the heart of the action Band B £135: Great seats overlooking the courtyard Utterly ridiculous. It’s a rich man’s world.

I thought around or just over £100 would be top end, never thought that wouldn't even get you in the door!

Loved the idea when it was initially announced and immediately signed up on the mailing list. After reading the email today, quite honestly I just laughed at the ticket prices. For what they are charging, I would want ABBA to reform and be doing a gig at the O2 for me to be paying those prices. Thanks, but no thanks.

So minimum price is actually £151.20, premium tickets are £218.40
The price includes
Eye-watering prices although I guess if you were paying for a meal + top price theatre tickets + getting into a club afterwards you might get to a similar cost?
The English version of the script is being written by Sandi Toksvig (so there is actually a show, this is not just the waiting staff dicking about)
For comparison, the unauthorised "Faulty Towers The Dining Experience" is £75 for a 2 hour event.

It's getting to the point where the booking form will have an Occupation field, and if you do anything other than leave it blank they reply "Sorry, but if you're poor enough to have to work for a living we don't want your sort here. Isn't there some sort of peasant thing you can go to instead?"

This is now in previews at The O2 but I’m surprised there’s absolutely zero buzz about it. I would’ve expected Benny and Sandi to be doing the media rounds to promote it. I think they’ve definitely priced themselves out of the market here. Had they retained the Southbank location, they might’ve been ok due to passing trade but I think they’re going to struggle out at The O2 (not to mention it’s stuck at the very back of the main promenade).

Don’t know for definite but I imagine this to be hen party and binge Britain hell! So do wonder if that’s why we are unaware of any buzz; they may well be advertising more aggressively to their target market.....
(And I say that as a Mamma Mia fan!)

I'm not so sure. I expect it to be very popular. Tickets for any gigs at the 02 are pretty scandalous. Add a meal on top and it's probably around the same amount. Thousands upon thousands trail to the 02 for concerts so they will go to that. It's not catering for the average theatre market and I could never justify those prices myself but I expect it to sell well.

The prices made me feel sick. I also don’t really like the sound of it.

People were paying a fortune to eat dinner suspended from a crane at the o2, no doubt this will sell too even though the prices are insane.

I have been to it 6 times in Stockholm, including that memorable opening night. It is abbasoluty fantastic. Having dinner, a nice show and on top of it a fab disco is really very nice. I agree that I too was surprised by the high prices. But believe me you must be made out of stone if you don’t love this.

This will just be full of poe-faced corporates who have been booked in by someones secretary, thinking ‘that looks fab’. She can’t afford to go on her wages but she can dream. Then the weekends will be hen party hell. What a bizarre enterprise.

Bjorn was on the Graham Norton radio prog Saturday promoting it. There is an element of performance apparently, there’s a cast which includes several people who have been in the show and the waiting staff were auditioned because they take part. I think they said it was booking through to Dec 2020.

The reviews of the Stockholm one are very positive, even from non Swedish speakers. You get a three course meal and unlimited table water to drink. Cheers! Yep, for your £200 ticket it’s drinks not included. That’ll have the Hens clucking!

So I know someone who work at the O2. Not sure what his official job title is but (basically) he looks at the planning of retail outlets at the O2- for those of you unaware, there is now a mezzanine level with outlet stores.
When I saw him on Sunday he informed me that it's currently in previews but officially opens this week. Apparently all four members of ABBA will be there for the official opening.
They have built a whole taverna and it currently has a lease of 10 years, so it's not going anywhere soon. Despite that eye-watering price, most 'performances' in weekend are completely booked out- mainly for hen parties. At this stage, best availability is mid-week.
Although he wasn't sure about the situation with alcohol, for that price you are getting a three course meal, the show and after that, they move away the tables and it becomes a disco. So for that price, you're getting 5 hours of entertainment.
Before you ask, I've already tried but he reassures me that he has no control over the advertising, promotion, or the handing out of tickets. Grrr!

It was the press night last hence tweet after tweet from "influencers" and bloggers telling us all what a wonderful evening they had and how it is "really worth the money".
If I was given a free night out with a free meal and drinks I'd be raving about my evening too I imagine... I certainly would not be able to comment on whether it was worth the money though, that right is reserved for those who actually paid their hard earned money to be there.

Friends of mine went last week and had a ball. Sent me some pics and videos and it looked a lot of fun. From what I know there are 2 different packages one with meal and entertainment and the 2nd with an added drinks package. It's expensive but it's a one off special treat. A lot of people may only go to see a show in the west end once a year and will buy good stalls seats, have dinner before or after, interval drinks and probably spend about the same as this show costs.

Having looked on the website, the cheapest bottle of wine is £26, plus 12.5% service charge.
The reviews on TripAdvisor are generally positive though, apart from the people who ended up with strangers at their table, or paid full price to be stuck behind a pillar. Hadn't realised Steph Parry was in this.
