The Twitter account seems to be teasing an announcement, has anybody heard any whisperings?

Without sounding harsh, I couldn’t care less. This production seems to have been thrashed to within an inch of its life. It closed what, 6 months ago? Another PTM desperation attempt

Another PTM desperation attempt No I agree, it just completely lost its soul with the recent runs of it. It's a show that works well in short bursts but when it's constantly coming back or being extended that's when it becomes stale.

Another go? I loved the show when I saw it off-broadway, liked it well enough the first time it was at the Other Palace, but it's been so flogged to death over here now that it's exhausting

People can trash talk it all they like but if it wasn’t turning someone a profit they wouldn’t send it out again and again. Its the new ‘Grease’ in that respect. Maybe people should just deal with it.

Overall I enjoyed it. It stalled a little bit near the end of the first act, and some songs are forgettable, but I was really entertained.
Keelan McAuley as JD, Esme Bowder as Heather M and Amy Miles as Martha really stood out.
I found Heather C looked too mature for the role, and Heather D's vocals were very hit and miss.
Opposite me was a pair of diehard fans, who lip synced every single word.

Id love to see this show produced by someone else! PTM's work all looks the same, secondary school production vibes, cheap ass sets, cheap costumes also a full cast! And casting new people not the same old actors everytime

I’d like to see what Chester Playhouse or Selladoor could do with it. Keep the ‘economy’ aesthetic but with added creativity.
PTM ran & programmed The Other Palace up to about a year ago so was responsible (I think) for Eugenius, Heathers & Be More Chill’s uk premieres. A quick wiki search might be more accurate tho.

"Eugenius, Heathers & Be More Chill’s uk premieres" – false – he did Heathers, the others were originally external producers. He then gained the rights to Eugenius! after the premiere run.
He did My Son's A Queer, Cake and a few others

During two unpleasant weeks that I don't care to repeat, I'm so happy Heathers is back in town.
Having been abroad earning a living (and trying to ignore the associated social media abuse that didn't happen in 1989), I did manage to get excellent Rush tickets on both Wednesday and Friday (tonight).
What can I say? Everything is on form, there's sound quality that puts the Other Palace to shame (6 piece band), full size cast, a bigger stage than the Other Palace (but the same shape and stylings), a well positioned venue, an enthusiastic but not mad crowd, even the wonderful May Tether and Lewis Asquith back in all the key ensemble roles as if they've never been away, plus Jenna Innes who is such an excellent Veronica. Ivan and Jason are such funny crotch grabbing jocks too.
For @sohoplace layout, they've moved the stage area to one end and put extra seats on the floor. There's really no rake for the first five or six rows and the stage is low, so it may be worth bearing that in mind if you're not likely to see over the people in front. The front row is very intimate, as it was at the Other Palace. I sat in side Row B both times, but at different sides. That is the normal seating, row B is raised, and many of the seats are right by the stage, so to me it's the perfect place to sit.
If you choose row A, it isn't safe from a starring role in Act 2 either as Wednesday showed. Tonight, they chose someone slightly further back who I'm sure was one of the older regulars and had been Steve before. He took it all in his stride.
Minor venue notes. It takes some time to get out of the venue. And mobile phone reception is terrible (at least on 3). That isn't something the venue can control. But those are all minor inconveniences.
Yes, it's Heathers. Yes, it isn't the most sophisticated musical of all time. But, yes, it is fun and it is uplifting. I'll fit in a few more visits, but it's a shame it's only in this ideal London venue for six weeks.

I had a slight worry that this would be a 'watered down' version of the show to plug a programming gap in the venue but nothing could be further from the truth. This was EXCELLENT!
The layout isn't as good as at TOP but that's about all I can use to separate the two.
Was a really hot crowd last night, a good amount of regulars but the rest in great voice.
We had Eliza Bowden on for Chandler, and she was excellent. Went full on pantomime villain and it worked so well. Speaking on going full on, if you are a Heathers fan and a bit jaded at the Heathers saturation, you NEED to see this JD. Keelan McAuley goes IN. All the way maniac at times and it works BRILLIANTLY.
This cast is really, really strong. The show is in fantastic shape. As a regular, I can see all the small changes people make and it makes me appreciate their talents all the more.
I was picked as Steve once again but I think I was probably the only person in the right age group for it! Interesting note that the average age profile is definitely way up on TOP audience though. Ticket price maybe? House was full and everything ran really well. I have it twice more before this limited run ends and I can't wait!
If you're on the fence about going, GO!

I agree about Keelan McAuley. Jamie Muscato will always be my favourite JD, but I loved Keelan's performance ( I was there last weekend) I've seen lots of JDs I thought were good, but those two stand out (along with Ben Karran)

JD is such a great MT character. Loads to do with him. Great actors can ACT him and slightly hide poorer vocals, great singers can SING him and slightly hide poorer acting (within reason obviously!)
Does anyone know who is covering Jenna as Veronica? Absolutely love her but I've never seen May Tether do it and would love to.

Interval and there are two people sat near me (in the bar as it’s the only place I get a mobile signal) debating the political philosophy of Heathers!

I've never understood Heathers. I don't know who the villain really is, or who I'm supposed to sympathise with. They hailed it as dealing with suicide, but then nobody actually commits suicide, and the one person who attempts is is treated as a comedy moment.
I don't even get why "Candy Store" is sung? What do those lyrics have to do with the preceding scene?

I definitely think it's a fair trigger warning, between Veronica's scene in her wardrobe and Heather Mac's scene in the bathroom. Plus the fact that the murders are all framed that way by JD and Veronica. {Spoiler - click to view} And technically JD does, at the end.

But nobody actually commits suicide. And the one person who attempts it is treated as a comedy scene on her return. I think you could very much argue that JD does. He also talks about his mum doing the same. Heather Mac tries and Veronica stops her, and Veronica is obviously taking her seriously and listening to her. And the scene with Veronica and the bedsheet should definitely come with the attached content warning, because it would potentially have much the same effect on someone. In that moment, it might not be clear to a new viewer exactly what is happening.
